I also use Superantispyware as well. But I have been using the "Pro" version for many years. It has gotten rid of viruses that all the others have missed. But you also have to realize that no single AV software will get everything. You also have to be careful when downloading and installing most so-called free software from the internet. They say they're free, but after you install it and do a scan, you have to buy it in order to fix the problem. Good luck Bill

So if the rear shock has gone south, what are our choices for a replacement? Bill P.S. Mike, some of us can't shift as much weight towards the rear as some others... But your still more fun that we can:stickpoke: -
WD has given me many issues. I try not to buy them if I can help it. I know it doesn't help, JMTO. Bill

Would anybody happen to have an ECM/PCM From a Ford F or E series with a 5.8L/351W, fuel injection, and manual trans, C6, or AOD? Somewhere in the 91 model year, give or take? I swapped in a 351W MEFI and an E4OD trans into my 78 F100 a couple years ago and the trans has been filled with gremlins. So I want to swap out the E4OD for an AOD. But I also have to swap out the ECM so the computer won't be looking for the E4OD and give me further issues. Thanks Bill

ammo cans?

Good idea for an off road or dual sport bike, but I don't think they would look very slick on a 1st gen. But each to his own and I'm sure you could make it work one way or another. Just out of curiosity, why ammo boxes and not original equipment? Bill -
This method is use by many of us in the scientific community in our labs in a controlled environment called "Flame Emission Spectroscopy". Here's a "WIKI" link, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emission_spectroscopy#Emission_spectroscopy Thanks Bill

I stopped into the local stealer for some break pads for my 84. The guy behind the counter refereed to it as "a house with wheels". I don't know about all that, but it sure did come with a nice view! Bill

You could try looking at your local Radio Shack for a "Project Box" in the size your looking for. Better yet you could try looking here http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/category/490/Project-Boxes/1.html The later is my preference. The Shack seldomly ever has anything I need, and if they do they want an arm and a leg for it. Bill

I got one of the 870lb./40"x49" trailers a couple years ago. I put Their LED trailer light kits on it and they work great. But I have a problem with the grease zerks falling out. Tried to replace them with some better quality ones but found I have to drill and tap for the new ones to fit. I'm finding that anything I buy from HF that I have to do any sort of maintenance on is built out of odd-ball sized nuts and bolts, etc.. I find that sometimes neither my metric or SAE wrenches fit properly. The grease seals also pop right out when I pump the grease in. I also installed the axle over the leaf so it sits lower to help reduce wind resistance and took out the extra leaf spring to reduce weight. I'm not going to be hauling 870lbs. with it and the second leaf is just extra weight. I know its not much, but every little bit helps. Bill

Good post guys! I've been thinking about this very subject since this summer. I'm liking the "CDI's" and the "Flyboys" on the ESS site myself. Thanks! Bill

So is there any warning signs before it goes bad? -

So what problem does this "fix" solve? First time I've seen anything on the subject. I just want to know for future reference. Thanks Bill -
My Venture is not running - sniff.

I've been using a reusable/rebuild-able glass and chrome fuel filter on my 84 for about three years now. I like it because I can plainly see when it's getting dirty as well as see when fuel is flowing properly. It fut a bit loose in the stock bracket so I split a short piece of clear fuel line lengthwise and slipped it over the inside of the bracket. The filter fit nice and snug then. As far as jumping vehicles, I have never had or seen any problems in all my years as a mechanic or driving a wrecker and using it to jump other vehicles. It had two 1100cca batteries hooked parallel and a high output alternator. That being said, I did have problems with my stator on my 84 after I jumped it with my 99 Bonneville with it at an idle a few years ago. But that in itself is inconclusive and anecdotal evidence at best. The bad stator may have been the reason I had to jump it in the first place. So until I see actual proof that it happens, I put it with the other myths, like the one that concrete floors will drain a battery. I've done plenty research, and it doesn't happen. I would also do the battery cable upgrade as well. That and a good AGM battery made quite a difference on my 84. I'm also planning on doing the four brush starter and starter drive upgrade in do time. That should make it about as good as it gets for my 84. Bill -
So what area of Wally World did you find this stuff in? I looked in the Auto section and couldn't find it anywhere. Do you have a picture of it or at least have the the product name? Who know, I may have walked right by it and not have known. Thanks Bill

When are we gonna start treating these types of scum like the domestic terrorists that they are? I am so sick and tired of hearing about all the street gangs and 1% clubs causing so much trouble in our own back yards. They should just legalize open/concealed weapons of our choice across the country and declare it open season on these creeps so the good law abiding and productive citizens can stop living in fear. http://news.yahoo.com/worst-california-biker-feud-decade-erupted-starbucks-154231726.html JMHO, Bill

People keep seeing those 1st gens, but they keep mistaking them as UFO's and such. When ever you see those air plane trails in the sky... it might just be one one of us....

If your very careful you can drill and install a grease zerk in the speedo shaft. My speedo squealed until it seized and twisted off the cable on the way home after I bought it. It didn't help that it was Jan 5th and below freezing. I got it freed up and lubed but it would still act up now and then. Then I tried the zerk. 4 years later and I haven't heard a peep out of it. Thanks for the pics. I have some sheet aluminum scraps in the garage that I'll have to do some experimenting with. My lower half has gotten so bad that I finally tipped her over twice last week. Once on each side. I've been trying to think of something to either cover up the marks or fix it. I had thought of new paint and then some clear acrylic to go over the edges in case it happened again. Bill

Would anybody happen to have some close-ups of them? I'm betting that someone who is experienced at pounding and shaping sheet steel or something similair. Maybe polished aluminum or stainless?

But then I could be wrong... http://www.driveandstayalive.com/articles%20and%20topics/crash%20causation/speed_swedish-motorcycle-crash_2005.htm Note that the story had changed a bit and the date as well. Still more even better details... http://www.hoax-slayer.com/motoycle-inside-vw-accident.shtml

It seems to me that I've seen that picture, or one like it, a few years back with a similar story. But it was later found to be a fake. If I remember right it was put together as a graphic example of what could happen. Or something like that anyway. But in either case, there's no doubt in my mind that something like that could actually happen. I'm kind of having a bit of a hard time believing that is the real deal without having blood and bits of people nowhere to be seen. I don't care how good a job you do, you could never get it all. But more to there point, when people make poor decisions, things can get grisly in no time flat. Bill
