  1. Okey dokey artachoki! I'll shoot Ken a PM and see where he's headin', and I'll be seeing you two Sat. afternoon then. TTYL Bill
  2. How early is to early on Sat to show up? Looks like about 183 miles/3.5 hour ride for me. Bill
  3. Do you have somewhere to pitch a tent? Bill
  4. Have any of you guys had any clutch issues after switching from conventional to synthetic? The reason I ask is that I was talking about switching to synthetic in my 84 to the guy at the stealership. He advised me not to because the friction disks are saturated with conventional already, and that switching to synthetic could cause the clutch to grab and slip kind of irratically when taking off. He said he has seen this before and when switched back to conventional, the issue went away. Anybody heard of this? He also said that if I ever changed the disks to go for it then. Bill
  5. I wonder if one of those Mr. Clean "magic erasers" would take care of that one...
  6. Well if I didn't have to work at 5:50am the next morning, I'd come join ya. Anything going on this Fri. or Sat.? Bill
  7. Luckily I live alone now... But ya, I would've had it coming otherwise.
  8. I have an electric polisher with a round brush on the end that spins. It works great. But I ended up getting black polish all over the counter top and on the floor. Took a lot of elbow grease to get it cleaned up. I guess I should've kept it on the work bench. lol Bill
  9. I worked for Morton Building for many years as a supervisor in my five state area. I personally would go with metal. VERY easy to run elec., plumbing, and heat/cooling. Also very easy to insulate. Also very easy to replace any metal that might get damaged if bumped into. If you like the block "look", there are many options for that as well. JMHO Bill
  10. Do NOT polish boots on kitchen counter!
  11. What he said. Here is a tool that is made specifically for the job. http://www.jakewilson.com/p/53/-/392/754/-/10975/Tusk-Fork-Oil-Level-Tool/FORK+OIL+SYRINGE Bill
  12. but can it keep up with a first gen.?
  13. Good advice! I know all to well what you mean. I'm going through the same as I speak. It really SUCKS what depression/bipolar issues and the like can do to a relationship. It's hard to believe the things that come out of her mouth. They also hurt very much to say the least. Bill
  14. HEY! I like what you've done with the place. Bill

Here is the chopper and a couple of my boats. I've sold the yellow boat but still have the larger one. I'm not sure where I saved my other pics right now...
  16. I hate to agree with ya there, but your probably right. I love technology, but not when it does us more harm than good. Especially when its in "Big Brother's" hands or the like. Kind of like this "snapshot" I mentioned in the first place, I have a bad feeling that it will come back to bite me in the ass later. Now wouldn't a good "Snapshot" be looking at my driving history and not seeing any claims, accidents, or tickets of any sort? Nowadays they want to know everything that has nothing to do with driving so they can fit me into some sort of "profile". Pretty soon they will want a blood, stool, and semen sample. Or even random drug screening like they have forced employers into doing. Can you tell I really don't care for insurance companies these days? lol! Bill:rotf:

I've had a Hirobo Shuttle Z for probably 9 or so years now. I think it was old when I got it. I know the radio was. I tried off and on for a couple years to learn how to fly it. All I could do then was hurt myself and till up the yard. Then after much research, I learned a few things were not set up right or just plain bass ackwards. I left it sit for many years intending to give it another go at it, determined not to let a "toy" get the best of me. Now that I'm on my own again, and don't have to give my entire paycheck up to the boss, I plan on dusting it off and doing some upgrades with some NOS from ebay as well as a new radio and servos. Luckily there is a group about 45 minutes from here who can show me how to properly set it up and are willing to give me some lessons. I've always been into gadgets and absolutely love R/C hobbies. My plan is to put a small video camera on it and a couple of those Estes model rockets. Man that would be fun! I already put the camera on my modded EMaxx and sit in the living room in front of the boobtube and go visit the girls next door when their sunbathing. They never figure out where itis coming from.Tee hee... Would that be "creepy", or is it just me?
  19. Through Progressive I pay $133 for 6 months for just liability on a 2001 Monte Carlo LS. I'm 41 and have had no accidents, claims, or tickets. I've had my bike insured with them for several years now. The premiums keep going up on it as well, never has gone down. Again, no claims, tickets, or accidents. Went up 48% when WI went to mandatory insurance. Can't even put my car and bike on the same policy. Had to have a "MultiPolicy", so years of good driving on the bike isn't counted towards the car insurance. When I got the car insured, I was treated as a if I had never had insurance before. Feels like discrimination between a bike and car to me. The DMV treats both as a motor vehicle, plain and simple. I also have to wonder why its "OK" for insurance companies to use profiling to set your premiums. I don't feel its fair for a person to be rewarded or stiffed simply due to the life choices they've made. I feel it should be based simply on your driving history or by the number of claims, etc.. Bill
  20. It was supposed to be UP to a 30% discount. And ya it does seem to be a bit big brotherish to me. And NO I didn't HAVE to do it. They told it couldn't make my premiums go up. So I though, "What the hell". I having serious second thoughts now. Bill
  21. Has anybody else here tried Progressive's "Snapshot" discount? They give you a gadget that plugs into your OBD port that tracks for mileage, time of day and braking. FYI, they consider excessive braking to be a decrease in speed of 7mph/sec. or more. I decided to give it a try and I don't like it at all. I think its way to sensitive. I find myself rolling through stop signs and hitting the gas to run through a yellow light now, when I didn't before just to keep the damn thing from beeping. I've tried several times now to stop for a yellow light before it turned red, only to have it beep at me. I don't feel as though I was breaking heavily at all. If I broke any less, I would've been in the hit the red light while in the intersection. I think my grandma would've set this thing off. Anybody else have a similar feelings toward these things? Bill OK, I take that back. Progressive counts 21 hard brakes since the 5th. I was told I would hear it each time I brake to hard. I guess someone was full of crap! Way more sensitive than I thought!
  22. Thanks T.J., I still haven't lost all hope yet. After much research, it appears that she may be suffering from a Narcissistic Personality Disorder, at lease on some level anyway. Which would explain a lot of things over the years. As well as how she's behaving now. It really sucks, as I see this as only a tiny bit of the person she really is. 98% of the time she is great, but then her dark side comes out to play and ruins everything. I really hate to see my marriage go to the crapper simply because this 2% of an otherwise beautiful person, can't play well with others. Now I know I'm not perfect and have my own flaws, but I know/feel they aren't so bad as to warrant a divorce. Which was one of my reasons to look for an explanation to to what was going on in stead of simply placing blame. At least right now, she has agreed to go see a professional with me about it, but saying and actually doing are two totally different things. So right now all I can really do, is to be as patient as I can, and hope for the best. So far I'm planning on going to the Wi. Maint. Day the weekend of June 30th. that Orlin is hosting. And the "Leaf Looker's Run" the second weekend of Oct. for which I don't work anyway. The M-N-E in Tenn. that eusa1 mentioned above sounds like a good time and give me a chance to check off a couple more states off my list, but I don't know if I can get that many days off work. I'll have to start asking around to see if anybody wants to do some switching days off with me. I'll have to post a note tomorrow and see if I can get some bites. Man! If I'm gonna have to take a good ride to keep a woman like her out of my head, I'm gonna need a good supply of tires! Thanks for your thoughts, and I hope to meet some new friends this year! Bill
  23. That does sound like a good ride. Now I work that weekend, but I do have a couple vacation day com'n to me however. Could happen. How about some more details?
  24. Ok guys, so when do we have our first good ride planned? I'm getting antsy sitting here all couped up. It doesn't help that my better half decided to give be a really nice birthday gift and told me she doesn't wanna be by better half anymore. I figure a good ride with some of my friends here should help me get my mind of that and back to where it belongs. Ridin' is great therapy. Bill
  25. Ok Orlin, just let me know when to show and I can give ya a hand getting things in order if ya need any help. I'll help where ever I can. Maybe we could start one of those calendars or whatever it was I've seen here before so we can all RSVP and all so you'll know what to expect. Like always, I can help out with some of the grub and bring a couple dozen each of burgers and brats. More if needed. Maybe a list of what is needed and who will bring what will keep us from having doubles or triples of things. Like condiments and such. Or am I being to anal? I can't help it sometimes. Just anxious to see everyone again and to meat some new faces. TTFN, Bill 715-222-3086
