Didn't see the helmet but will check out. Just had my eye on the freewire. It was advertised for sale in my latest Cyclegear catalog. 5 pin connector should be available soon I would think. I may have to spring for one. I'm hoping this helps me integrate all the great features of the bike but also my smartphone. Always a toss up for me to grab the wireless headset helmet or the wired helmet and either do without my phone capability or the bike's.

Look closer. They have a 5 pin connector as well.

I was wondering if anyone had seen this? http://www.sena.com/product/freewire/ Seems this might be the answer to those folks who have been trying to integrate their phone but be able to also use their bike system too?

@videoarizona Thanks for the pic! This helps me visualize it for sure. Upon your suggestion I sent an email to Kennedy and lo and behold...drum roll...a Jonathan Jambor responded back almost immediately. He is on vacation at the moment until the 22nd but said he had what I needed. I'll get back in touch with him toward the end of the month. This device looks to be exactly what I'm looking for to integrate my iphone. He stated there are three parts required: An intercom harness: 95261, $45 The interface module: 95413, $85 The phone harness: 95536 $50 (he said he also had a straight style of this item) Thanks again...I've been searching for a while to find something that would marry up the great features of the bike and my phone and I think this may be my long lost answer! Most appreciative for this tip! Mark

Ok good food for thought! Thanks everyone. I just wished there was some alternative to allow the stock system to be able to incorporate a phone. I like the stock system for the intercom mostly and listening to music. I like the fact the stock system is ready to go at any time as long as the bike is in good order. I've had Bluetooth devices and my largest complaint is that you have to charge them all the time even though it's the same for our phones. The other is that sometimes my Scala Rider system would get out of sync with each other at the most inopportune times! My wife did not like that at all as it makes her more comfortable riding knowing she can get my attention at any time through the intercom. Oh well, maybe the newer Bluetooth devices are much better now than the ones I first bought back in 2013. Any advice or recommendations on those?

Hi Folks...ran upon this today and wondered if anyone has figured out if/how this could work to integrate calling/receiving calls on iphone yet integrated into the stock Yamaha sound/intercom system. It seems the bluetooth option might work with the remote mic option mounted inside a full face/modular helmet. I know it would not be weatherproof but it could be protected better from the weather. Anyway it got my creative juices flowing thinking on how I might best use this device to my advantage. The mic would have to be plugged/unplugged each time you take off your helmet but I'm thinking it would allow you to use the aux port on the cassette deck while taking/making calls. iSimple also makes other items that plug into the aux port including one they call a Call Cassette (http://isimple.com/catalog/talk/ISMJ38) but the trick is being able to have the mic at the end of the cord inside your helmet. I suppose you could use an iPhone headset extension cable perhaps and even use this http://isimple.com/catalog/talk/ISMJ33. Bluetooth device:http://isimple.com/catalog/talk/ISBT52 Cheers, Mark

I finally did it.

As a followup...I turned it in to the insurance company and they paid for a new fender minus the $500 deductible. I happened to find a new fender assembly (part # 4NL-Y2150-31-XJ) for $467 including shipping @ http://www.yamahapartsmonster.com/ so I'm hoping this will work out. I called the parts store and they assured me this was the correct piece for my model. Insurance price for part was $602 and they added almost an hour labor, they dropped a couple hundred right into my bank account and so in the end I only had to spend another $267 for a new fender. I figured I got off better than I thought I might. Now I'll have a slightly dinged fender for sale once the new one comes in if anyone is interested. I'm not sure why anyone would want it unless they had a way to bang out the small dent and repaint. At any rate, I'm hoping to bolt the new one on myself as it doesn't appear to be too hard looking at the diagram. I may regret that decision but I'm gonna be hopeful. :-) Thanks to everyone on the forum. This has taught me a valued lesson in what not to do when loading the bike on a trailer. Now at least I join the ranks of those folks that have come before me and will be able to impart sympathy to those that come after me. -

Thanks everybody for all for the words of support. I do have full coverage on the bike so may go that route. You know I still can't believe I did it. The worse part is going to be telling my wife what I did. I don't want to shake her confidence in me as she loves to ride too. Just gonna have to man up I guess! LOL At least I learned a valuable lesson. Why is it the school of hard knocks seems to be the one that drives the point across the most? -
Well I did it. And I couldn't have been more dumb. Dropped the bike today while test loading it on a trailer. I was on a slope in grass and not level. Backing off the trailer, front tire began to slip and drag backwards and I lost control and dropped the bike on its side. If that wasn't bad enough, a metal outcropping on the trailer gate scratched and dented my front fender. I've done dumb things before but I think this takes the cake especially since I could have pulled the trailer about 5 feet forward and been on level ground. Took me a while to figure out how I was going to raise the bike on unlevel ground but finally managed it by myself. I'm sick to my stomach about it but I'm just glad I didn't get hurt. What's worse is it is brand new 2013 (or was) and now wondering what the best course of action should be to fix my fender? All comments (even ones calling me a dumb @ss) are welcome!

Yamaha Rail Bags?
vasquelli replied to vasquelli's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Oh don't I feel dumb now. Thanks so much Mr Hulk! I was trying to put them on the passenger grab rails. Now they make perfect sense after seeing your photo. Can't thank you enough! Mark -
Hello Folks! Have any of you had experience with the Yamaha Rail Bags that go on the passenger rails? I bought a pair (spent way too much on these tiny little things) but they don't seem to fit quite right. I was wondering if someone had an example or a picture of them on the bike so I could get a good visual? http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/4/83/406/all/1/187/0/detail.aspx Thanks! Technology! Gotta love it! -
This has probably been discussed many times so excuse the duplicate post. I am looking for some inexpensive LED PAR36 bulbs to replace the 35W Halogens that came with the Yamaha Passing Light kit. Has anyone seen these? http://www.levineautoparts.com/betts-4416.html I wonder if they could somehow be retrofitted to fit the light housing. I could not determine if these were 4.5" or not. Anyway, looking to see what others have done here. Thanks!

Hello All! As a shade tree mechanic, I don't claim to be that good but I am so proud of my handiwork I just had to share! I ordered an LED tail light and the Yamaha Passing light kit for my new 2013 RSV. Today after a few busted knuckles, I think I was successful in my endeavors! Check out the lights!! Thanks to this forum for all the helpful hints.
