This may be a good thing for some. I hear a lot of talk about using home equity for retirement. I'm sure this option will grow on people and be a better deal then a second mortgage. If this generation don't get some common sense and leave the drugs alone we may outlive our grandkids.

My guess is they have a higher rate of default. I thought the scoot was the last thing to go. First gen's protected by Smith and Wesson Security.

62 and want to retire? Just take out a Reverse Mortgage on your house.Buy a new scoot, travel, live it up and never have to pay back the loan in your lifetime. No credit checks either. After your gone the house is sold to pay back the loan. Talk about spending the kids inheritance. The sad thing is many will take this option when they find out it's the only way to afford retirement.

Why are motorcycle loan rates higher then car loans. Yamaha is running a 7.9% offer for 72 months but sometimes automakers do a 60 month at 0% to push them out the door. Just seems like motorcycle loans would be cheaper. Just curious NO I'm not looking.

Riding season is winding down for some of us. So lets hear it? Whats your winter project? I got a 86 to part out and a 99 to paint.

Over 20 years old and off the books. When I bought my 84 in 05 it's book value was only $1250 then. First gens on Ebay sell for about twice the book value 83-85 year. Good Luck.My guess they will total it.

Gasoline jumped 20 cents today. Were back to $3.05 for unleaded.Oil at $93 a barrel how many days till $100? The well tenders around here are driving pickups with V10's go figure.

A good house down here goes for $35,000. Not bad tires on her either for that price.:rotf::rotf:

That boy is some of my best work.He came along late in life. He will have my early teenage problems. Beat the women off with a stick and learn to run fast. A whiz on computers to. When I was 16 I bought my first street bike a Triumph Bonneville 750 with my own money. I worked a part time job after school. Now you know why there two first gens in the shed. I might have to start him out on something slower. His mommy has a second gen with training wheels.:rotf:

No pressure wash yet. The oil leak is dripping down on the collector from the shifter side. Riding the bike engine hot you don't notice the oil leak. Leave it set cold for a few weeks over on the kickstand and there is a puddle under the shifter area. It seems to leak worse or only when leaning over on the kickstand. -
Paul I like the home decorations. This gives me ideas for the new log cabin were planning. I'm putting a 48 inch door entrance. Ramona thinks it's for wide appliances but makes for a first gen entry.:whistling:

Nice thing about a good running first gen. No performance catalog stuff needed. Wife says money saved for Rubys and other important things.

It's gonna be a long winter.Done and hijacked my thread and to think Venture rider.org friends are the only friends I got. Me and Yammer live in a rough neck of the woods.:rotf: FIRST GENS RULE especially Red Ones. -
:rotf::rotf::rotf:Disappointing first impression?I didn't think second gen owners would know anything about deer hunting.:whistling:

A neighbor just dropped off some fresh whitetail tenderloin. I can see it now deer steak surrounded by mashed potatoes and gravy. Don't forget a pan of mamamo's homeade bisquits. Nothing like a First gen,Deer steak,Apple pie, and Oh yea Chevy Pickup. A country boy can survive.Time to get the rifle out and check the zero. It's bow season now but gun season is less then a month away.

Excellent idea Bill. We hijack this thread to include Vstar bashing. So who wants to pass Lewis and Bill at the next meet and eat?:rotf:

Redneck know where I can buy some second gen parts to fix the 99?It does a lot of whining.Intermittent audio connections the list is growing for it. -
Installed a 86-93 engine in a 83-85 frame? My 84 has a bad oil leak from 13 years of storage. The motor only has 23K on it and runs strong, shifts smooth, no 2nd gear problems yet. I have a 89 motor with only 15K. I would like to know how it runs. Can I swap the two with no problems using the 84 carbs, etc kind of a plug and play swap? This would let me clean up the 84 engine, repair the dry seals, and decide if I should attempt a early second gear fix before problems arise. I could reinstall the 84 engine later. Who knows the 89 might run good in the 84.

Yeah Froggy, 1st Gen Is sooo superior... You are end up riding 2nd Gen.. Silver 99...And nobudy can take off smile from Ramons Face...Superior comfortable. She should smile it's hers not mine. Notice no second gen in my vp gallery. That second gen is so slow we decided to keep the voyager kit on it and use it for towing only. Comfort is not bad but no good for hot weather riding. The heat off those exposed engine cases is a cooker. Ramona has tried to get me to slow down so we now own a second gen for two up.

You know the rules pictures. Wait a minute are there any brown stains.:rotf::rotf: My neighbor had a pet use to get in the yard all the time. Drove the dogs mad.

I couldn't decide if Hot Pink lace or Teal lace is better for the background of Ruby's and diamonds. I thought I was the only one that gets to see your pink and teal lace. Where are the moderators this is a family site.:rotf:
