No luck today but I did see some deer. The buck just didn't give me the shot I wanted. A day in the woods is better then riding a second gen.:rotf:
-
Muffinman you might want to grease that new bearing every 50K or 6 months whichever comes first.:rotf::rotf:Rednecks bike won't see 50K.

It's the opening day of deer season. Yamaha Kodiak 4x4 setting out front. I got my Rocky gortex boots, hot coffee in thermos,.223 WSM just begging for a round. Now if I can get those deer to cooperate. It's 5:00 am and I got potatoes and eggs on cooking. A country boy can survive. More later.

Here it is $100 bucks but still worth it to me. http://www.hellodirect.com/hellodirect/Shop?Dsp=30100&PCR=1:1:5:25:280:3020&IID=12200&itemskuid=12200&actn=addkeycodetocart&keycode=53400538&cm_mmc=Google-_-MISC-_-CallBlocker-_-caller%20id%20manager

I don't think it sat outside in down town Baltimore. The neighbor hood would have it stripped to the frame. It probably sat with old gas in it for several years. You might want to swap those carbs out to get it running for now. Take a test ride and evaluate everything else. It's obvious someone else done the work but it sure wasn't those guys.

I just installed our new Caller Id Interceptor last week. What an invention. Now all 800's,866's, unknown numbers ( those that hide there id from you) are routed to the answer machine. They never ring the phone. No more collection calls, credit card telemarketers wanting to sell insurance on your account, all political and surveys are blocked, and anybody else I choose to program in the thing. All other calls ring the phone. I can even keep a log of get this all numbers dialed from my phone (sorry teenagers in the house) can't hide anything from dad now. There is a sleep mode momamo can program to silence the phone for until she gets up at noon. It's good to have a phone again without harrasment and rude callers.

Now you done and got my trigger finger itching. Our buck and doe season starts monday. I can't wait for some of that venison to try and pass by. Nice Harvest.

The 84's are fast. Especially the red ones. Wise choice but plan on replacing the rear tire about every 4K.:rotf:

I must confess. I dropped my RSV, HARD.
FROG MAN replied to Steve S's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Steve I'm glad your OK. Your thread brings back to mind the sensitivity of the rear RSV brakes. I have noticed how easy they lock up on the voyager. Being use to the first gen linked system I'm not sure how easy I could adapt to the RSV. All second gen owners are aware of this and compensate under normal driving conditions. But will they remember in that instant when a reaction is mandatory. Guys be careful. -
Sorry about your brother. If we had a little more southern justice then maybe not as many low lifes walking around. 01 Oct 2006 Old-Fashioned Justice American-Style Americana, Crime, The Law http://neveryetmelted.com/wp-content/themes/a-blog-apart-065-en/gfx/line.gif Angilo Freeland bolted from his rental car in the midst of a routine traffic stop last Thursday in Lakeland, Florida. Polk County, Florida Sheriff’s Deputy Vernon Williams pursued Freeland into a wooded area, accompanied by another deputy and a German shepherd. Freeland killed Deputy Williams, wounding him in the ensuing gunfight, and evidently finishing him off execution-style with two gunshots to the head. The police dog (named Diogi) was also killed, and the other deputy wounded. Police officers from all over West Central Florida turned out for the manhunt. The murderer was located hiding under a fallen oak tree in the woods. Seeing a gun in his hand, police officers opened fire. Autopsy results found that Freeland had been shot 68 times by the time the shooting stopped. “That’s all the bullets we had, or we would have shot him more,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel. Deputy Vernon Williams left behind a wife and three children. His death in the line of duty occurred on his wife’s birthd

My Avon didn't look anywhere near that Good at 5,700 miles. Dan thats the difference between the 1200 vs 1300. Wv twisties and a good right hand bring out the best of those 1200's. I got 5K out of my dunlop?

No more first gens what a scary thought. I got two with low mileage plus a spare motor. I should be good for another 1/2 million miles. Dan what a thought you would go to the dark side if no more first gens? Now I know why you have a few spares. A scarier thought anything else means no more Yammer Dan. Long live a first gen.

I dumped a full can in 10 gallon yesterday.I poured in 8 gallon between 4 scoots for winter stabilizer and cleaner. The other 2 gallon went in the gasoline generator. I have mixed a full can with a fresh tank of fuel in each scoot. I do that about twice a summer per scoot.

Hunting season is 3 weeks away. My fingers freeze when riding the 4 wheeler on those cold snowy early morning trips to the stand. The thumb throttle finger will go numb. When my hands are cold I'm done hunting. I need a glove that will keep my hands warm. They must be lightweight and be shooter friendly. I don't want to loose the sensitivity on the trigger finger not to forget access through the trigger guard. Any recommendations from you hunters in snow country? I have been wearing two pair and still get cold.

Check out this twistie in front of my house. Just a normal Wv road.

I was at a small 911 center for about 1 hour yesterday. While I was there servicing some equipment two calls came in for Identity theft. One was a stole identity claim and application for credit in there name. The other was a charge on a credit card by a unknown person. This is a small center they might get 5 calls an hour on there 911 phones.Makes you think about the growing crime rate of identy theft.

I guess times are changing. In West Virginia (one of the poorest states in the nation) land is sacred. People here will deny themselves health care, and many things to keep there land. The property I live on goes back in the family for generations. One of my ancestors had a black smith shop here. Some day I would love to pass it on to family. There would have to be an interest in the property and the financial responsibility to manage it. I have seen many pass property on in a share and share alike manner with multiple problems later. This is one thing I will not do. If I don't own it 100% I don't want it. The reverse mortgage issue is not an option for me but who knows. Times and values are a changing. God only built so much dirt and when it's gone it's gone. I see the signs around me though. The wild and wonderful is becoming New Jersey and Pennsylvania avenue. Masses of people coming here buying up land that is still cheap by there standards. In just recent years I have seen it go from $300 an acer to $20K. I pay $300 a year for land taxes but that will soon change.
