I guess we all need to inspect out tires more often. Road debris is a major problem for all of us. Ride safe guys.

Truckers strike starting today of independent operators. A few years back I almost bought a dodge cummins diesel pickup. I'm glad I didn't now the price of diesel is crazy.A man told me today the older models are not running well on the new low ash fuel. Good luck truckers and drive safe.Think I might top off my fuel tanks just in case the pumps go dry shortly.

I wondered what was wrong with that speedo. It would go once around the dial then back to zero at cruising speed.

Economy forecasters are like weather men they seldom get it right.I know one thing keeping the family budget afloat is getting harder to do.These waves of recession are getting high and some say a depression is just off the port bow.Now some joker just said the stock market will hit 16000 by years end and it's smooth sailing. My bills are still paid on time and I put more trust in my computers 100 day budget forecast then anything but prices just keep going up.My kids are having it worse with the oldest daughter fighting to stay in college with two mouths to feed and the future son-n-law currently between jobs. We meet a man the other day who was building a new 4 bedroom log house for his wife. She left him and now he lives all alone. The house is almost finished but he lost his desire to complete it.He has chose to live life as a hermit. He has no electricity, running water, telephone, etc. He says he is debt free and just decided to live with no monthly bills. You might say he is permanently camped out along the river bank. Once in a while someone will stop by with some news of whats happening in the world. This brings a whole new meaning to still having room in the budget for a few more cuts.

Sounds like a case of to much HORSEPOWER to me.:rotf: Glad your OK, life's decisions come at us quick sometimes.Get well soon.

Squeeze, Thats the plan. All these breaking and enterings going on in my community and for some strange reason nobody seen anything. The truth of the matter is my community knows exactly who is guilty but won't say. There protecting family members. They won't even rat on someone harboring a wanted felon or a local meth lab because they got something to hide themselves. The only people complaining are those with nothing to hide. When I start a little shooting on the weekends everyone passing by will know, and those momma's will warn there babies to stay away with there after hours activities.

Hipshot, plan A is and always has been: Be a good neighbor and if at all possible live peaceably with all men. Plan B is for those who choose not to abide by plan A and try their luck. I believe in the right to keep and bear but hope I never have to use.Knowing how to use is mandatory to having home protection firearms. Sad we live in a time when intruders will do anything to support there drug habits. I plan on having some first line deturrents in place. If their stupid enough to keep coming Plan B will work.

Phlox sounds like a idea for that road bank. Hidden under that bank is a hand layed rock wall that is now covered with topsoil. I'll sow or plant something there soon before those april/may showers come. On another matter out behind the old house at the corner property line is a small low gap. This is not noticeable from the road but a perfect spot for my plans. A 0-20 yd home defense pistol range. It has a nice back stop hillside area just needs a few rocks removed and some side barriers built. We want to practice point shooting with the autoloaders and smooth bore shotgun shooting from the hip. No time to find the sights when intruders are coming in with low lights at night.

Yesterdays ride was a enjoyable sight seeing and thinking day. I thought how many times have I rode these back roads on a dirt bike. Always 40-50 mph doing wheelies, slinging gravel, and never noticed anything. But that was 35 years ago. Atv riding is a great way to see the back country.

I just put a new rear tire on mamamos voyager 99. I'm sure the straight line running will wear down the rear sooner then expected. This might be a idea for rear tire replacement later. I bet the load rating is higher on that B.F. Goodrich. I blowed a new metzler in Connecticuit last summer. I paid $500 for a Uhaul to bring her on in. I could have bought several car tires for that. The voyager kit is always attached and the scoot is never operated without it. The voyager kit makes for a great towing scoot. P/S Your idea would never work here in WV on a standard scoot. We have more twisties then straight roads. Please be careful and keep us posted on tire wear, handling, and performance.

Mamamo and I are taking a little sight seeing ride from our new property today. You might say were taking a weekend off. Sunny skies forecast for Saturday and were getting the ATV's out. From our new property we can ride for hours or days traveling dirt roads,trails,1 lane tar and chip pavement roads, crossing multiple counties. It's great to live in the mountain lakes region. Those Yamaha kodiaks will come to life for a little fun. I just enjoy a slow pace and enjoying nature. That root and bore mud slinging thing is for a younger generation.I didn't pay $12K for two four wheelers to tear them up horsing around. The spring flowers are blooming and ramps are coming up. It's hard to tell what we may get into. I got a few neighbors I might visit along the route and you never know we might spot a freshly planted ROSE BUSH!!!

It's amazing how changing times can change a household priority. Today it seems our top priority is bandwidth. My dsl connection when it's working right runs at 1.2MB on downloads. For the past 4-6 months I have been complaining to the phone company about slow speed and dropped wireless connections. When I'm having the problem my wireless connection speed drops to less then 100K on all wireless machines. My hardwired machine (mamamo's desktop) drops to about 300K. Every time I'm on the phone with tech support we do the usual. Recycle power to the modem, turn off antivirus software, change channels on the wireless connection,Is there anything else hooked to the phone line (satellite tv,recorder, etc) NO NO NO. You can send me a bag of dsl filters I have about 10 new ones from the last time. I think they need to replace the modem. I got up this morning and the bandwidth was way down about 95K so I done a cold start on the modem (recycle dc power for 30 seconds) and still nothing no improvement. Then 30 minutes late like magic I'm back to 1.2mb connectivity. Never a problem with the telephone side of the operation. Tech support is coming out today lets hope it's broke when they show up and find something. Then again they never showed up the last three times I called them.

A out of state scam artist operating in his home town decided to go big time. He purchased or stole about 20+ chainsaws all of the same make and model and sold them on Ebay. When I purchased mine his feedback rating was excellent over 98% and he had sold these saws for about 1 month. I read the other buyers feedback reviews and they were all happy with their saws still new in the box but expressed a slow 2-3 week delivery delay. The individual was selling about 10-15 saws every weekend and receiving payment via paypal. About 10 days after I purchased my saw and still waiting for that email and tracking number from the seller something went very wrong. I noticed the sellers feedback rating was dropping and negative reviews were pouring in over no communication and no saws received.Within two days I filed a complaint with Ebay as my communications attempts went unanswered.Within 3 days Ebay settle up my financial losses and shut down the sellers account. The policed dept handling the investigation has apprehended the individual awaiting trial. Apparently he sold his shipment of saws about three times. Ebay treated me more then fairly and I bought a better saw then the one I never received.:cool10::cool10:I have been doing business on Ebay many years and will continue to do so.One of my biggest issues is the seller claimed to be a Christian business.

Wish I could wait but I sold my Sirius stock last August to make a down payment on our property. I new this would happen stock up 10-15% after the merger. :confused24:

My 84 is running one of the walmart motorcycle batteries. Not a great battery but for $40 bucks it's run for 3 years. I'm going to replace it this year with another one.

My riding season begins April 19th with a mood change. It's the first weekend after I paid the IRS.If the creek don't rise I'm going to put a few miles on mamamo's 99. Run a few tanks through it and make sure it's running ok before we start painting it in may. I think my test ride is about over(Mamamo is still waiting her turn). :rotf::rotf: The 84 needs some tlc before I consider a trip to the beach in june. Those front fork seals or whatever still have a major leak even after a rebuild and the battery is due replacement. I got a new front tire mounted up ready to install as well. The 89 just needs a little cleanup. Those #@#^ birds are trying to build nest in my scoot shed again and that darn cat has muddy tracks on the scoots. I need to roll the 86 outside where I got some elbow room and start parting it out in the evenings. I can throw a tarp over it out there. I think I will pull those plugs and clean them and start it up. The last thing I do will be part out the essentials for keeping it running. So when I get it secured on the center stand the plastic, floorboards, hitch, etc start coming off. Not sure how much help I can be but Yammer Dan is way over due for getting something running. We got to do something about that.My scoots have been neglected. Nothing has been started since January. We have been busy at the new property just not enough time.
