Then next $42K will go toward a new house.I just opened a cold one and lets hope she runs another 150K miles.I got the check ready to mail.:big-grin-emoticon:

How do you manage?
FROG MAN replied to FROG MAN's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Robo Form looks like a $30 investment. Is it a better program worth the money vs one of the free download programs? Again the issue of multiple computers and keeping them updated. I'm giving my puter more and more control. The new dark ages LIFE WITHOUT A PUTER.Man thats worse then jail.Losing my Internet connection is almost as bad as a loss of blood pressure in my house.:rotfl: -
Between Home and the office I probably have 30-50 online login accounts. Everything from financial, stocks, credit cards, bill payments, business mfg,to the socializing accounts and email. My question is how do you keep track of all the usernames and passwords? It would be nice to just have one or two usernames and passwords for everything but that is a No No from a security point of view.Maybe breaking them down into 5 or 6 groups say everything financial's is this username and password and bill accounts would be something else. I guess the best practice would be a separate password for everything but this would require using management software to keep track of them. The problem is I use many different computers during a weeks time and this login thing is growing. Now were being prompted for your security answers because secure websites do not recognize more then one computer. Oh yea don't forget it's time to change your password at regular intervals. What started all this rant is My Yahoo account login said the other day there had been suspicious activity on my account and I needed to change my password?I'm not a fan of those security vault programs but something has to be done. Also there is the issue of how strong is your password? I guess using something easy to remember is out?Just curious what others are doing or If you even think about it? ID theft seems to be a growing business.

We had a good trip up the parkway. We stayed in a rustic cabin Friday night at Rocky Knob. They were built in the 30's by the CCC. Were in Waynesboro VA tonight. Not sure what were doing tomorrow. We may head north up the skyline drive and then home? Or just leave for home in the morning. It has been a good trip.

Just spent 3 nights in a cabin in Pigeon Forge. Tonight were in a cabin at the KOA East in Asheville. We spent a couple hours in Cherokee before heading north up the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had planned the next 3 nights to be a camping adventure tent style up the parkway. Just had a hard rain here and all the rain at night has changed my mine.MaMamo is rarely in a good mood dry so don't get her wet.We got the kids and the dog along next stop Rocky Knob Virginia up the parkway about 225 miles north.Later

We have killed three nest here and one at the camp. I still have one active nest with bee's pouring out of a small opening in the house siding next to our bedroom window. There coming out the bottom next to the block foundation. They must be high in the exterior wall somewhere between the studs. No way to get them out I have sprayed about two cans of spray up there but can't reach them. This new nest this evening is in the ground beside an out building. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Be careful out there guys. August is here and Yellow Jackets are everywhere. I have to patrol the property frequently to ensure the safety of family members. Ramona is allergic to bee stings and so is the son-n-law. He is in the ER now receiving a IV treatment from bee stings. He got stung twice this evening after weed eating and found a new nest.He is OK and on his way home in about an hour. My tower crew has been killing snakes like crazy this week just cleaning up some of the company assets. It's Copperhead and Yellow Jacket time.

Something to be aware of. There is a threshold point on that inhibit line where the resistance from dirty connections may cause a erratic TCI operation. My 84 would only run on three cylinders some of the time.Dirty connections was causing the inhibit line to partially kill the ignition system. The contacts on my tilt switch were dirty and it was dislodged from its cradle and dangling. Probably from a previous owner dropping the bike. If your scoot is intermittent often hit and miss on two or three cylinders try pulling the inhibit line and see if it clears up. Those switches must be clean enough to pass sufficient current for a hard closure of the side stand relay. Weak current flowing through the relay coil wil cause a weak contact closure on it's output. All these little things can add up to a TCI lacking a good enough ground to kill the ignition in the activated state. I wonder how many first gens have been sold over owner frustration from ignition problems and the fix may only cost a $0.25.

Hard to find a good burger these days. I remember when two cheeseburgers, fries and a shake was my weekend meal. Those were the days all for $2.00.

Charlie's got to much time on his hands. Slow fishing day???:confused24:

X son-n-law use to be a fast food cook. I wonder where he is working now? Hard way to get cleaned out.
-
Randy good luck. If you pull the inhibit line and the scoot runs then your problems are minor. It means either your emergency kill switch is corroded/bad or the kick stand relay contacts are corroded or being energized by a failure on one of the controlling inputs (kickstand switch, clutch switch,or diode circuits). If your scoot still won't start and you have switched12 volts to the TCI then I would check the pickup coil connector down along the frame behind your gear shifter before suspecting the TCI. Remember you can ride your scoot with the inhibit line pulled just be conscious your safety interlock circuits are bypassed. Here is a diagram for you.

Hey Riderduke Muffin wants to know something
FROG MAN replied to mini-muffin's topic in Watering Hole
Duke is in charge of Mini's winkie while Muffinman is away??????? Did I miss something? Is it pink?I got to read more threads. -
The cabins in that area around Pigeon Forge are a great deal. Cooking your own meals vs eating out and staying in a motel is the way to go. Were going next weekend plus we got three nights for the price of two.

She works at Sunoco in Flatwoods, WV just off I79. Those pictures are a couple of weeks old. The guy said he has been running it for about 3 years.

Always somebody ganging up on us?Dan always behaves except that time when! Oooops said to much.
-
I would take it easy for two weeks. Then after Vogel another two weeks. Thats 30 days just what the Doc ordered. No problem getting to and from but can you behave at Vogel?
-
Seems to me like getting your feet up on the pegs is a great way to keep the weight off that foot. Were not talking about pushing a Harley here thats a first gen and great therapy for the foot and soul.Does the Doc own a scoot? Just my opinion.

Any Computer Guru's?
FROG MAN replied to FROG MAN's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
I been reading that several usb serial cables are not vista supported. I was hoping somebody has tested one with vista. Most of the software I run is windows only programs but we still service equipment using dos based software. It seems the two way radio vendors are all wrapped up with Microsoft. -
I need a few things for my new laptop running Vista home edition 32 bit. 1. A good USB serial cable adapter with drivers. 2. A terminal emulator program like hyper terminal or something else. 3. Will dos box run older programs? I'm trying to get the new laptop doing all I can. Tired of carrying two laptops just to maintain communications gear in the field. Now I got three computers on the truck.
