Charlie I will see if MamaMo can post some pictures.I just got home and found this article. 350 million years old WOW. I was west of I81 in the WV mountains about 140 miles west of the Chesapeake Bay. Fossils Sea Shells in the Mountains, Fossils in the Forest Can you find sea shells in the mountains? Yes, you can!--less than one hour from Roanoke, Virginia on the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. These sea shells are fossil sea shells, over 350 million years old. Fossil sea shells (Brachiopods and Pelecypods) can be found in some rocks along the roads, creeks and trails on the New Castle Ranger District. If you look carefully at the loose rock laying on the ground surface, and if you are lucky, you may see fossil sea shell remnants or imprints in the rock. Fossils can be found in the sandstone and shale rocks on the other Ranger Districts of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. The fossil beds usually contain a community of marine creatures that inhabited the sea floor beneath an ocean that covered the area west of the Blue Ridge in the distant geologic past (Paleozoic Era). Crinoids (sea lilies), Trilobites (arthropods), Bryozoans (coral) are some other fossilized marine creatures found in these fossil beds. Some fossil beds contain fossil trees and plants. Back in the Paleozoic Era, the area now occupied by the Forest west of I-81 was a vast sea located south of the Equator. The Blue Ridge was huge mountain range bordering this vast sea. The Blue Ridge supplied sand and silt to the beaches and near-shore waters. The marine creatures living on the sea floor were buried in the sand and silt, and preserved as fossils.

Research says these finds date back to 24-50 million years. MamaMo is a sea shell collector nut.

I'll be bringing home a few souveniors from the mountains. We explored today a geological find at a construction site in the mountains of West Virginia. We were at about 2500 ft above sea level and found fossilized rock formations with sea shells at the dig site. Guess like they say at one time we were underwater.I guess the beach is closer then you think.

I spent a little time down on Navarre beach about 20 years ago. I was down a couple of years ago to review my old stomping ground and the place was gone. I mean Hurricane gone no access. Last time I was at Flagler beach that was a nice little community.

When Ramona and I travel I try to book ahead looking for those discount rates for early booking dates. We always look for free wifi, Indoor pool, king size bed, microwave, fridge, etc. Also some of the motel chains serve a really nice breakfast which we enjoy. Having a cracker barrel close is also a plus. Thursday night everything was great except that was the hardest bed I have ever slept on. We both complained of back pain and hit the pain killer early. Which brings me to my question. What motel chains do you recommend for mattress comfort?I mean this was a business class suite but the bed was hard as a rock.Maybe they sleep on rocks in Pennsylvania I don't know?

I usually can do a trip on $45 a day. The VP has done a good job of stretching the dollar. Most of my competition has financial troubles while our company is debt free.

Were in a recession. Company has us cut back to one grade above hot dogs. New VP in power.:rotf:

Any place recommended for a nice dinner in Allentown. I'm thinking $15.00 a plate or less. Co says not to splurge whatever that means.I'm not staying two nights in Secacaus NJ so I booked a room at the Best Western in Allentown for Thursday night. I got MamaMo along for the ride Co paid her way to keep me out of trouble!:whistling: So HOOTERS IS OUT.

Never fails I got the title in the mail my 04 Silverado is paid in full. I started the truck up last night and the service engine light came on but it runs fine. No time to have it checked and I'm leaving for New York this week. There used to be a paper clip shorting method on the under dash service plug that would spit out the error codes. I think those had the 12 pin diagnostic plugs. Mine has a 16 pin plug under the drivers side dash Is there a way I can put it in test mode to get the stored error code. It is probably something mnor but I need to know before leaving.

Honest Man????? Seems like I remember Grandpa talking about those in his day. They all died of old age years ago on my end of the county. The 911 addressing committee should have let me rename the roads and hollers around here. Let me see there is Oxy lane, Meth holler, Hydro city, Pay no taxes alley, Do it to you first street, Cash only avenue, And the little community up the road where all the kids want to know? Will my real Dad please stand up? Why do I loose sleep at night trying to pay bills? All the neighbors sleep like a baby. Some sleep it off for days. Watch your back Dan there is more shaft a coming. No bars to hold them back either.

I got the new sending unit put in and the temp gage works fine. Now for my next problem. The speedometer cable was melted and froze up about 10 inches from the transfer case hookup point. The previous owner installed a dual exhaust and got it to close to the cable. I replaced the cable but it still don't work. I'm thinking maybe there is a nylon gear stripped or something in the transfer but not sure how it works. I'm going to unscrew it from the transfer case and spin it with my cordless drill to make sure the speedometer works. Anybody experienced with the inter speedometer workings of the transfer case? It's probably a new process model.

$120 a month? I pay $100 a week for 70/30 coverage with a $7500 deductible.I could buy a second gen with the money saved with your rate. I would go for it.

Dan was that the warden I seen looking at that vacant lot across the road?

GM color code the dark green wire is for the sending unit. I got to check for 12 volts from the instrument gage and see if the older 350 has a resistive sender or just a high temp switch.

I picked up this old custom built truck to haul firewood for the camp, haul weed eaters, chainsaws, and make diesel fuel runs for the tractor. Actually I drive it most of the time making the 1 mile trip down to the camp for the weekend. It has a 3/4 ton frame with an added dually kit. A steel flat bed with an 87 1/2 ton cab. 350 V8 with a 4 speed manual transmission and I love that granny gear for working. My question is on the 87 cab what is the color code on the temp gage wire coming through the firewall harness. I need to hook it up to the block sending unit.

I went to use my GM Master card at Dollar General store this evening and they would not process it as a credit card. Only Visa or Discover cards can be used as credit cards there. I know most local banks give Master Cards as debit cards but come on this was a valid credit card.I don't have a pin set up for it so I gave them a Discover card for the transaction. I don't carry cash any more.

Yep you never win when you trade one in for less then payoff and finance 100% of the new one. Like I said never again.
