I have an '83 and I could never get the carbs right. Best I could do was run it with the choke on. $600 to rebuild and my guy said that I'd still be adjusting them all the time because of their age. Took the plunge and purchased a single carb modification kit. Wow! Runs great! Now has electric choke and fuel shut-off. And it now is getting over 40 mpg!1 point
