  1. Kind of gonna be a regular Sunday, just the 2 of us or maybe 3. Muffins for breakie, then find an online person who can tell us the real story of Christmas without all the fixings, but what the Christ means to this world, or could mean, them eggs benedict for lunch, a snooze probably, then keep each other company until supper, with some egg nog and Christmas cake to help out, bacon and cheese buns for supper. Something like that. Today it's clear the driveways time.

  2. I know that times are tough for many right now. I just want to wish each and every one of you a Very Merry Christmas. It is a season of joy and I hope that you all can find some during this holiday season.

  3. Had a REALLY close call a few weeks back. In my big ol' Ram Pickup with the wife, heading home from helping a friend with a boiler install. Was near Y-Town, on 680, speed limit 65. I was in the passing lane behind another pickup. Plenty of room between the truck and I, and we were both doing about 70. I was satisfied with the speed...point being that I was NOT tailgating. We were both slowly overtaking a SUV in the middle lane, and that SUV had a block of lettering as a rear window decal. I glanced over to try to read what the decal said, and did notice with my peripheal that the pickup in front of me had sped up and got in front of the SUV. I turned my head to look ahead and there was a mini-van STOPPED in the passing lane. In that flash of a second I ascertained that I was going to clip the rear driver corner of this van, as I lurched the vehicle left, (squealing tires) and dunno how I missed it, but I went into the median....stayed on the median for a few yards and gently coaxed it back onto the road.... Lisa looked over at me and said "How the hell did you miss that guy"...I dunnno.....Hand of God.... Spent some time on that drive home repeatedly thanking the Good Lord for what didn't happen.... I think it's that sort of thing that shows us that there's more than we know going on. Like many of you have had...That situation left me with NO time to think, but simply react...and I did so in a way that prevented catastrophe. I think that "reaction" is either our true self, unbound by the limits of this body, stepping in, or it truly is the hand of God helping us out......Most of us have had these things happen....some of us (me) have had it happen more than once. I think that should give us all something to think about, especially on this holiday, when we celebrate the birth of the one person who acted / acts as a bridge between this world and the next. Happy Birthday Jesus....And THANK YOU !!!!.....Can't wait to meet ya....

  4. We had an HR manager that liked to use that line. I invited her to ride a fire truck for a few days to see if she still believed it. She declined. Many accidents are caused by complacency or carelessness but some can’t be foreseen.

  5. We each put 1 present under the tree and draw numbers, when your number is up you can choose to open a present or steal one that somebody else already has. With that many people it can get lively. We have a lot of fun whether you’re stealing something you want or just doing it to mess with somebody else.

  6. We 'all' seem to look for joy and peace at this time of year, it's on signs, in cards, on TV and the radio. Interesting enough it still seems hard to find. We go to the stores and buy what might be figured to get the perfect item only to find out it is the wrong brand, or not big enough or too large to fit, could even be the wrong color. We load up with food just to find out that we throw a lot out and that was a waste of money. We plan to fly somewhere but discover that the planes are all grounded. So where is that joy and peace that everyone talks about. Hey!! it's Christmas, a season to celebrate. Celebrate WHAT? Try celebrating the first part of Christmas, the part that says Christ. We do, we haven't given any presents at Christmas for 52 years or more, but spend time to find out what real peace and joy is/are. We eat well and visit when/where possible, but do spend time to visit with the One who the celebration should be all about, for then we have peace in our hearts and joy in our lives for we have a grand future. May you all find the peace and joy that is yours for the asking and once you know it, share it with others. Best part is: it's free and once you have it nobody can take it away.
