  1. Rode the BRP with the wife yesterday. It was truly glorious, although very busy in some areas.

  2. Hello Venturers. Monday, I took my trike to Hannigan's in Murray KY to have a reverse put on it. I picked it up yesterday afternoon and was really happy with the results of the work they did. They took the trike cover off, modified the trailer hitch, installed a flywheel on the driveshaft and added a starter to "propel" the trike backwards. I mean it doesn't slowly roll backwards; it PROPELS it backwards. (Not dangerously fast). Thankfully it has a momentary switch that activates the starter, and a single tap makes it start rolling and several times that has been enough to take care of the issues of needing room to go forward. The final cost was right at $1700 but I am very satisfied with the quality job they did. Steve

  3. Glad you like it. I don't use the reverse all that often but it is really nice when I need it. I have the floorboards so probably use it more than somebody without them. Actually do use it to back out of my garage. You are correct, it is NOT slow.

  4. I have a skid plate on mine. I think I got it from Carbon One. When just lifting the front, I Use a regular bike jack and lift on the front of the plate. If I need to lift the whole trike I lift the rear first and set it on jack stands then move to the front. I have a stack of 6 2x8s I set the front wheel on. It's not that high but it's a lot more comfortable working height. I wish I had room for a real lift.

  8. We are told that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and Master, Romans 8:28. Presently it is hard to see how your experience plays out in that big plan of His, but He has a plan and will fulfill it. He does listen to us when we talk to Him so your request for us to pray is a good one. We will ask that you will have the patience to endure the pain and loss and that He might be present with you during this time of trial. We will also ask for speedy healing and financial stability.

  9. Glad you’re here to talk about it. In my experience things weren’t often good when we pulled out the jaws and tore cars apart.

  10. @Freebird mentioned 2nd gear, it’s a question of when not if, it’s gonna go. The missing body parts are fairly hard to find in good shape, they’re out there but the abs plastic gets brittle with age and get damaged. The 83’s also have a history of broken frames. If you’re looking for a Venture project I would go with the 86-93 in my opinion.

  14. You can ride those bikes skipping 2nd gear when it goes out. But, that bike looks like a big project. All depends if you want a big project. If you decide to get it, there are lots of knowledgeable members here who could give you good repair advice.

  17. Jesus Tony! I'm glad you are here to tell the tale! As hard as it is going to be to understand this, you will get through the monetary part of this! The MOST important part of this is that you are alive Sir, and your job is to get better so you can support your family in the future. It's hard for us "Old Work Horses" to NOT worry about what will become of this or that, it's what makes us "Good Men". Take care of yourself for now, so that you can fulfil your obligations in the future. The customer's that understand, will understand, the ones that won't, won't! I personally am dam glad that you are still here with us, as I am sure that your family is as well. Both Jean and I send Prayers to you and your family through this ordeal, and will pray for a speedy recovery! Earl and Jean.

  19. I decided to go with the brake pads Earl @skydoc_17mentioned. It's the least expensive way and the lowest amount of engineering. I was already considering @WIZ's thoughts with adding the valve to the rear system but really am tired of dealing with brake lines. To many years of fiddling with fittings and leaks!!! Earl got the pads out to me right away. Hope to get them installed in next few weeks. We are heading into our sailing season here in Arizona, so I'm spending time on boat. And camping. And riding! getting busy for me...! Thanks @WIZ and @skydoc_17....

  20. You got it. I actually did add the front fender rail a while back but installed the wheel and new tire yesterday. Love the look but don’t know yet about the ride and handling. I’m optimistic though. Chromed Stratoliner wheel. Decided to leave the pie plates off. Can always put them back on later if I decide to.
