  1. I read an article in the late '80s that explained our current 'higher' education system spot on. It explained that in the 50's and early 60's when the US was at the top of education ratings it would take roughly 65 credit hours to get a bachelors degree. With Vietnam a lot of families put their kids in college to avoid the draft. These kids had no idea of what they wanted to study. the education system came up with the Liberal Arts Degree for those that satisfied the number of credit hours with no real major area of study. The Education system realized they could increase the number of hours required to get a degree to help these undecisive individuals come to a conclusion, and also continue to keep them out of the war. By the mid 80's They decided that all students needed to be well rounded and introduced even more frivolous credit hours so that today you need 120+ credit hours for a 4 year degree in anything. They added psych, social studies phys-ed etc. in the end it was really all about the Benjamins. Raise the total cost of a degree to increase money flow. And people wonder why our Colligate system is producing the garbage workers they are. Sorry don't mean to offend Garbage workers, they're more intelligent than a lot of college graduates today.

  2. Based on the schematic below that brown wire is ignition power to the R/R. This would definitely need to be connected. The other one may have been an aftermarket and not have needed the brown because it was what we refer to as self exiting it would sense a voltage output from the stator to turn itself on were the one with the brown wire would require input from the ignition switch to turn itself on. https://www.venturerider.org/wiring/90-93 Yamaha Venture DA Simplified Circuit Diagram Rev C.pdf As far as the cracked magnets in the flywheel are concerned I would replace it the chipped ones may not present much of a problem but the cracked one most likely will in time if it hasn't already. So while you have it apart replace it. Replace the stainless cover and If you can find an oil/stator cooling kit for it get one. It may save your stator from early failure specially if you have added extra lights etc. to the bike. The part number for the kit if you can still find it is 90891-30014 stator coil oil cooling kit . the kit includes items 8,9and 15 from the drawing below and the flange bolt part number 90105-12374-00 not shown. this bolt has a hole in it were item 15 resides.

  5. Hi Skidder! So I pay $7.90 a month for my Medicare Part D which gets me two of my meds (1 top tier, and 1 2nd tier) at $6 and $2 each for 90 days worth of pills. My cancer drug was an additional $145 per month out of pocket with my Part D insurance (that is called Silver Script?). Someone told me about "GOOD RX" which is a free card you can sign up for at GoodRX.com. I signed us up for that and that little card brought my Cancer drug down to $12 but saves nothing on my other 2 drugs. I was shocked at how easy the Good Rx card was to use. I use pharmacy within a local chain department store and it was absolutely no problem or hassle to use. Good RX is outside of my insurance plan and is free and my Part D carrier has no link to them or even knowledge of the fact I am using them that I know of.. Is that the kind of info you were looking for? Hope so! Aint this getting old stuff fun LOL? Puc
