Thanks for the nice replies. I’ll update again when we get home. Looks like we may have to ride home in thunderstorms. Hope not. I think we have pretty much confirmed our fears that this will be it. I will be putting the bike up for sale when I get home. I can tell you this though, this site will continue with my full support. Nothing changing on that front.

HOME SAFE @ 11:00 am Lots of rain and wet roads but made it safe back to Gassaway. I left before daylight at approx 5 am in light rain. I probably rode about 5 of the 6 hours in the rain. I had a great time and it was wonderful to see some old friends again. Thanks everyone especially Woody & Trina, and Joe & Bobbi.

I agree, being educated is not always the same as being intelligent or having common sense. Our governments alone are one example that educated dummies do exist.

I'm thinking that higher learning just makes people more stupid sometimes. It kind of depends on the mode of learning, but often times times folks get to learn how to speak better, reason differently, debate things and so on. In the end they get so good at it that along with trying to convince others that they are right they even confuse themselves into thinking that what they are standing for actually makes sense and will pass for truth. I would rather us all be a bunch of dummies, but be able to believe what we hear and deal with each other on a level and honest basis.

Just to chime in, I'm home safe. Get wet and dry multiple times, It took only 14 hours to get to sweet home Chiraq. Thank you guys for another great memory at Asheville

I think higher learning is great, I’ve been working on a degree for 20 years! I think there has become too much emphasis on having that paper and too little focus on learning that counts. I get it I know the Gen Ed are supposed to make you a well rounded individual, but for me that was scouting. Honestly if I could afford it I’d take college classes for shitts and giggles because I love learning. But I digress, back to @cowpuc original post, ya gotta learn the basics!

Liz & I have had a great time! Excellent riding in the mountains here and great meeting/talking with new like minded people. We are looking forward to the next one already. -Drew

Sure regret being unable to be there. Really miss seeing all my VR friends. Hopefully next summer will be a better situatuation and I can be actively back on the road again. Wish you all of you the best. Nice pics BTW.

It was great seeing some old friends I haven't seen in years and great to meet some new ones as well, wish I could have stayed a couple more days but have obligations at home.

Whatever the outcome of this trip is, you ain't getting rid of us that easy, motorcycle or not. Safe trip guys.

Had a great ride today we will be watching the weather for tomorrow, may have to wait for breakfast to decide if we are going to ride or not.

I can pretty much do anything and properly done as well. Having said that though I can paint a vehicle, house painting is my downfall, specially when it comes to rolling. Guaranteed you hand my a roller and tray at some point I will most definitely step in the tray or hit the ceiling several times with the roller.
