Kris and I did a whole chicken, split with our garden vegetables(turnips, zucchini, carrots, broccoli and cherry tomatoes) today in our Instant Pot air fryer. Basically followed bpate4home's spatchcocked recipe with Himalayan pink salt, fresh groung black pepper, fresh grown thyme and basil and powdered garlic. Quick prep and delicious!2 points

I just purchased a mud tray. Drill a few holes in the bottom and put aluminum foil over it if needed. Need to try adding a few more holes in the side. I've picked them up at home depot for $5 - $10. Never thought about using Pellets in it though. I've used oak, hickory, pecan, apple etc. Even tried osage orange. Found this a little helpful.1 point

Welcome aboard. Members here will freely share experience and tips, as I have found over the past 5 years. Here's a thought on the fuel pump..they are generally trouble free and from what I can tell, are regulated to deliver fuel only when needed. They are "on" when you turn the key on, and you will typically hear it pumping when initially powered up. The points in the pump have been known to act up, and some members have taken them apart to replace or freshen up the points. Another route to go is to replace the pump with either a similar pump, or an electronic pump (no points). I installed a Facet Electronic pump last year ( part #40178) and it works flawlessly. The thing to watch with whatever pump you use...other than OEM... is the fuel pressure the pump will deliver. I don't remember the PSI right now, but it's in the low single digit range. With a bit of creative plumbing, mine fit into the original pump location, is powered by the OEM wiring, and like the OEM delivers fuel as needed. Another fuel related suggestion is to get rid of the OEM fuel filter and install a see-through filter in a more visible location. Many have put it under the seat, between the battery box and the gas tank. The bike frame tubes widen out just behind the tank rear mounting bolt to form the cradle for the seat. There's a perfect filter-sized space there..much easier to check than the OEM filter location. A final hint...if you don't do this already, shut the fuel off under the tank whenever you aren't riding. If whatever pump you end up using has a failure which allows fuel past it into the carbs, you run the risk of filling up the cylinders with gas... hydrolocking. Bad expensive things happen when you hit the starter. Good luck with the project.1 point

Cutoff the heel shifter peg & replaced it with the woodcraft folding toe piece: https://woodcraft-cfm.com/products/08-7099-folding-toe-piece-black Its about 3/4" shorter & I installed it so it folds up. This allows me to move my foot backward on the floorboard and I can just push it up out of the way with my boot. I just finished the project as it was getting close to dinner and haven't had a chance to test it yet. Will do that tomorrow. Heading out for a 5k trip in August, so it will get a really good test then! On my previous long trips, I like moving my feet back from time to time to shift my body position and that darn heel peg is just in a bad spot, limiting left foot movement. Hopefully this is successful. If not, I'll be ordering another shifter on ebay & thinking of another solution.1 point

I managed dealership service depts for 25/years. It’s a money maker for them and has no positive impact for passenger cars and trucks1 point

I can’t seem to make brisket work. I’ve got a full packer in the freezer just waiting for an occasion. But it never turns out great. OK but not Great. I’ve done the cooler stall trick, I’ve just waited out the stall but for all the work and time I’ve always been beaten.1 point

Good point, and clean out the airboxes of any oil residue. Then clean ALL oil deposits, nice and clean and then clean again before anything else. The run the bike for a bit on the side stand, don't ride yet or the air stream will make it harder to follow the trail. Then maybe run it on the center stand or bike stand.1 point

Just to be clear, the oil is 1/2 way up the glass with the bike setting straight up? A common mistake is to fill with the bike on the kickstand.1 point

I’ve always heard this is an eating club with a motorcycle disorder, how many biker groups discuss smoking ………….meat? That being said I bought a 13lb brisket this week, throwing it in the smoker soon.1 point

I use Walmart carb cleaner for situations like this. It makes an excellent degreaser. Outside and away from sparks.1 point

It looks to me like the leak is farther forward. The problem with these types of leak is the oil can be coming from anywhere and being blown back. Probably best thing to do is get some black light type fluid (ultraviolet)for tracing oil leaks and put it in oil. Clean off as much off the underside as possible. Maybe gently lay bike down on side and pressure wash bottom only! Maybe. Pressure washers and bikes don't get along so be careful. Run engine for a few then use a black light to look for the greenish tint fluid that will show up under a black light. That would be where the fresh oil is leaking. I bought a small black light from ACE a while back for a few bux. They were near the cash register. Cheap.1 point

There's an old saying, "It's better to be a BIG fish in a little pond, than a little fish in a big pond"! Over the years, people have come and gone from VR.ORG not because they were here to seek information about their bikes, but because they were here to create turmoil, whine about their "lot in life", take advantage of free parts and services, or bad mouth other members. Because of Freebird's integrity, he has kept these distractions to a minimum, and allowed the "real members" to learn about their motorcycles, share parts and events and enjoy the "protected environment" that is VR.ORG. In this day and age, it is a pleasure to come to this forum KNOWING that the type of bike I ride, my political affiliation, my gender, my masking preferences, or the color of my skin will NOT bar me from learning about my scoot, finding out where the next "meet and greet" will be, or if I break down on the road, where help can be found. The entire world could stand to learn a lesson from this little microcosm we affectionately call VR.ORG. I thank GOD every day for men like Don Nelson and some of the other members of this forum that have allowed me to travel the country, share my kits with them, been patient with me during the development process of something new, and have just been "Damn Good Friends" over the years. Sadly, the Internet has become the World Stage for the "bullies" and "bad mouther's" that we ALL ran into when we were growing up. There was a time when people like Don Nelson would have put them in their place once and for all, (GOD Bless Texas!) and these sub-human beings would go on to live their lives in mediocrity and shame. Now, in the safety of their mother's basement, they spread their Anger and Fear and Loathing to ALL that will listen. Lastly, $12 is a VERY small price to pay for the information, friendship, and instruction I have gleaned from this forum over the years. I have spent a LOT more money on "stupider" stuff in my life, that's for sure! As far as FACEBOOK and TWITTER goes, they are what I would expect from a "FREE" subscription service. Controlled by shallow people with an "Axe to Grind" about all of the terrible things that have happened to them because "They Didn't Get Their Way"! ADULT CHILDREN!! This is of course is just my OPINION, and Your Mileage May Vary! Earl1 point
