  1. What a roller coaster this has been. As you know, a while back Eileen wrecked my 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road. The day of the wreck, it got towed to a local body shop. The next day, the insurance company called to tell me that they were sure that it wasn't totaled. They wanted to know where I wanted the work done and arranged to have it towed there. A couple hours later, they called again and told me that they had decided that it was totaled so they had cancelled the plans to tow it to my body shop and were instead towing it to, I think it was called IAA Auctions where it would be sold. So I then spent the next three days frantically searching for a new truck. Nobody within 300 miles had one one the lot. All the "incoming inventory" said "Sold" or "Sale Pending". I finally found a dealer who had what I wanted but it wasn't even showing "In bound" yet but had a build date that day. They said if I wanted it, they need a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit on it. So, I placed the deposit and the wait began. Then on Monday, the insurance company called and said that their adjuster at the auction site had determined that there was only about $11,000.00 damage and that was not near enough to total it so they were towing it back to my body shop. So then I had a decision to make. The truck was pretty badly wrecked. Did I want to keep it or what. I decided to go ahead and buy the new one and would just sell my current truck after it was finally repaired. So I never cancelled my order. I got a call two days ago that my truck had shipped and was on it's way to my dealer. I haven't been give a date but I expect it will still be another 3 or so weeks,. It's somewhere on a train now and will eventually be put on a truck for the rest of the journey. So that's that. Right? Wrong., I got a call from my insurance company yesterday letting me know that when they got the truck to the body shop and up on a rack, they determined that the damage was much worse than they thought. So they have now officially totaled the truck and are towing it back to the auction site,. They offered me a settlement, which was honestly more than I expected. I have accepted it so am now back on track and don't have to worry about selling what I know was a pretty badly wrecked vehicle. I was considering just trying to wholesale it to somebody with full disclosure that it had been wrecked. OK...so now I am just waiting on the truck again. Ordered a new BackFlip MX4 tonneau cover this morning and a couple of other small things that I had put on the old truck. It will all be here before the truck arrives. I am certainly ready for this to be over with. I did get a pleasant surprise from the insurance company though. They said that because this is a replacement for a wrecked truck, that I can send them the bill of sale on the new truck and could reimburse me about $2500.00 in state sales tax.

  2. Morning All! My riding buddy from Orlando called me a month ago. He has gotten to that age and is hanging up his spurs. Wants me to have his 2014 FJR and offered me a really great deal. I responded that I already have a bike, my 2005 RSTD. My baby! Driven her from FL to Nova Scotia. Driven her to British Columbia. Driven her to Texas. Driven her up the Outer Banks. Driven her down the California Coast. Driven her to Ohio! Driven her in daily snow when she was all I had. My buddy was insistent, though, indicated his was newer, true, and sportier, debatable. Finally told him if God helped me sell mine I would buy his. He agreed and we started praying. Before I could advertise the bike, Before I finished changing all the fluids, my Baby, Racheal, sold to another of my Christian buddies! I am taking her to her new owner today which is the anniversary of the trip up the Outer Banks I took with my brother 4 yrs ago. We returned via Blue Ridge Parkway. We were re-enacting a our first trip together when he was 12 and I was 20 and we spent a summer touring the country on a Suzuki 550. Yea, I know, who lets a 12 yr old ride around the country with a 20yr old? Covid took him this year.

  3. My mom is in very rough shape. She is being cared for by one of my sisters down in Ohio (PRAISE GOD FOR LITTLE SISTERS!) instead of suffering through the nightmare of a nursing home. While Tip and I were out getting some fresh air time on our E-bikes recently I was riding along singing praises to God for all He does for us and He spoke to my heart to use evil Youtube for some good for a change and record some songs for my Mom to watch. I followed God's directive and got a real positive note from my little sister that my Mom really enjoyed watching it and to please continue so I am doing my best to oblige her. This morning God spoke to my heart again about putting this one on VR, maybe because some of you are going thru some rough times too. If so and if even one of you get some air under your wings because God REALLY does still send his love on the "Wings of a Dove" than I reckon I did something right for a change. Puc P.S., if you are one of our lop eared praying VR member varmints if you get a second please pray for Puc's mom. THANKS

  4. What a story. I’ve never owned an FJR but did put some miles on one. It was a great bike that I could have seen myself owning but I just love the cruiser style.

  6. A wild ride, but good news at the end! Enjoy the new truck! I too, was surprised at the insurance pay out when our 10 year old Spectra with over 200K miles was totaled. We had already replaced it, so it was a "spare" loaner vehicle and no great loss when a family friend got tagged in low speed altercation with an inattentive driver. The insurance check was seriously twice what I expected and a nice alternative to scrapping the old girl.

  8. God knows our each and every pain . Thoughts and prayers go with you at this time . In the book of Matthew Jesus says we should ask him for help ..We are to believe that our prayers will answered ...Faith brings hope ...There is a old gospel song that goes ..This World is Not my Home , I am just passing through .

  9. Watching a parent age and need help with the simple necessities of life is a very difficult thing that many of us go through. I'm sure your mom knows how much you love her and your video affirms it. I've a pretty good idea of what you're going through, and know that I mean it when I say "Thoughts and prayers are with you all". Take Care, my friend.

  11. So, I had this happen 3 times. Pulling out of a parking space in 1st gear and then a "click". She popped into neutral. The second time it happened I was leaning into the turn. Needless to say, the bike and I ended up on our sides. This is quite a concern for me since I don't want this happening in traffic. Has anyone experienced such a thing? If anyone can give me some guidance on where or what to look for to correct this, it would be greatly appreciated.
