  1. Yamaha has issued a “Service Bulletin” regarding the starter. Some have had issues and some have not. Type in your VIN# and check. NOTE: unlike a “recall” which is safety related and ALL vehicles must have it done, a “Service Bulletin” may apply only to certain bikes and is VALID ONLY WHILE BIKE IS UNDER WARRANTY PERIOD. https://www.yamaha-dealers.com/public/web/techpubs/nhtsaPublications.html

  2. open the fuel bowl drain and disconnect the fuel inlet hose from the faulty carb. Then connect a hose from a can of carb cleaner to the the fuel inlet pipe and flush it through letting the cleaner drain out through the carb drain. If your careful you can follow up by blowing compressed air through at a controlled very low pressure make sure the fuel bowl drain is still open.

  3. The float needle has some trash under it and won't seal. It happens on carbed motorcycles. I think Cowpuc had a procedure where he connected to the drain and pushed cleaner up into the carb fuel bowl and let it drain and repeat.

  4. I restored what I could find. FlyinFools pictures must have been kinked or something because I don't find them.

  5. This is the Emax 22 that I'm trading in. Since these pictures were taken, I added a ballast on the back that adds about 900 lbs of weight to the rear to help with lifting. Still wasn't enough though. The new ones has loaded tires and I'll also use the 900 lbs ballast if I need to. This one is only rated to lift 900 lbs., the new one is rated at 1560 lbs. Should be much better. I didn't buy the mid mount mower for the new one as I never use it to mow. I would be nice to have it as a backup but I couldn't see spending another $5600.00 for a mid mount mower when I have a 62" zero turn that I mow with and a 380X John Deere with a 54" deck that I can use for a backup. This was a great little tractor though,. Have owned it for about 4 years and never had any problem at all with it.

  6. Yamaha fixed my front brake switch under warranty. Happy with that… now it is my turn to have my starter replaced under warranty. Glad she was in the garage, when it was time for the starter to stop working. Dealer shop already has a starter ordered for me and just waiting until this weekend. So glad I have my ‘07 RSV that I can still ride. pic from yesterday:

  7. I bought a spare starter way back, as I did a front brake switch. I guess they have a new model starter, so my, "spare" is the old one. Piece of mind nonetheless, now I'll get the new one....installed. Thanks Gunner!! Don
