Lol. My hair is pretty long right now. Well I am non-radioactive again. They got it removed this morning. I thought all the bandages would be gone also but I’ll all bandaged up again. They said I could remove them on Wednesday. I guess now we just wait and see. Everything went as planned though and at least I no longer have that radioactive disk sewn to my eye.2 points

I'vs heard of eye transplants but that would not be an option for me for a couple of reasons. First of all, my first bout with this cancer the tumor was around the optic nerve which was destroyed by the radiation. The second thing is that I believe that there are plenty of people who are totally blind that would be better served. Two people could be given site from a pair of eyes and I would never want to be the cause of a person being blind when I still have a good eye. I've been blind in this eye since about a year after the first treatment 13 years ago and am accustomed to it. As long as I can retain the vision in my one good eye, I'll be happy.2 points

The good news is that I was awake during the surgery. Could hear when the were cutting the ends off the stitches. Never once heard anybody say “oops” so that’s probably a good thing.2 points

First surgery was completed yesterday and I got home around 2:00 for so I think. Wasn't terrible but of course my eye is all bandaged up. Felt pretty good yesterday but not quite as good today. Could be worse though. I think it's going to feel like a long weekend until I go back on Monday for the second surgery to remove this radiation plaque and etc. All in all, probably not quiet as bad as I expected.2 points

Just a little update to let you know what's going on. This is going to be a busy week, I had a couple of preliminary appointments last week. Physical, Covid test, etc. All went fine. This morning at 9:00 I have to go in for a biopsy on the tumor in the eye. Sounds like I will be asleep for that but don't know for sure. Then I have various appointments Tuesday and Wednesday. CT Scans and etc. to determine if it has spread but we don't believe it has at this point. As of now, I don't have anything on Thursday. Friday is the day though. I will go in on Friday rot have a radiation disk sewn to my eyeball. That used to be something that you are in the hospital for but due to Covid, I will be sent home. So all weekend I will be wearing a lead filled eye patch and will have to wear leaded glasses anytime I"m in the same room as Eileen. I will also have to sleep in a separate bedroom and etc. On Monday, I return to have the radiation disk removed and then we will see what else, if anything, has to be done. It will be along week but I've been through worse with this mess. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. Just so you know, I intend to be just fine.1 point

@Marcarl Thank you for that kick to go learn something!! My manual says use a 74H rated tire, which is rated as 827lbs of load & 130MPH. The Shinko 777HD is rated 80H, for 992lbs of load. Manual also says 41psi for load of 198-419lbs. Shinko 777HD spec says Max load @42PSI. I weigh 155, add 12 lbs for helmet, boots & jacket get's me to 167. I will be weighing the rest of my cargo on next trip, but I'm most likely right at, or just over, that 198lbs for total load. Looks like I should be setting the rear to 41psi and safe to do so! Thank you! And once again, best spent $12 ever!1 point

Consider: The faster you spin the tire the more it will stretch out, so the rounder it gets, and the less contact patch. Max psi on the side wall is posted in conjunction with the load bearing rate, also on the side of the tire. Also the speed rating is on the side of the tire. Wear on the treads indicates the amount of contact patch mostly used. IMHO: The pressure indicated along with the other numbers helps one figure out what pressure should be used, so if your are only loading to half the specified rating the pressure can be reduced to maintain a contact patch that is at a safe and operable range. You can't go half pressure for half load though for when you reduce pressure then more spec's come into play such as heat and flexibility. I have been informed that it is never a good idea to over pressurize a tire because as you use them heat builds up and may then rise to a higher amount than what the tire was designed for and cause failure. Hot pressure is never mentioned because that can be very variable, so measure cold and run with it, but stay below the speed rating.1 point

I too like my Shinko's. I run 38 in front and 40-42 in rear on both Ventures. Cool video. Thanks for sharing....1 point

Well, this weekend feels like it has gone on forever but this is the last day of this misery. To be honest, it hasn't been as bad as I expected but certainly not pleasant. I've not had to take any of the pills that they gave me for nausea and I've managed to get by with only Tylenol and only a couple of times for that. I haven't even opened the bottle of Oxycodein that they prescribed and I knew that I wouldn't. I just refuse to take that stuff. I'm ok as long as I don't accidentally try to open that eye. It's all patched up and has a disk sewn to it anyway so it would do no good even if I could open it, beside the fact that I'm blind in that eye from the last time I had this mess. Sometimes when you open the good eye though you just automatically try to open them both at the same time, Since they have my eyelid sewn shut also, it doesn't open just just pulls the stitches., I'm getting better about not trying that, Anyway, this is the last day and tonorrow morning I go in for surgery again to have this all undone., I can't wait for that to be over with, All in all, it hasn't been too terrible. I've been through worse pain and this too will pass,1 point

I wonder if you have to pay extra when you find fingers or hands with the tires.....1 point

Put the plow on the 4 wheeler, but haven't had enough snow to be worth plowing yet. 700' of driveway make it a necessity if we get a heavy snow, and I've only had 2 winters in 20 where I haven't needed it. ......I hope this will be the 3rd such Winter.1 point

Yesterday went OK. Had CT Scans of almost my entire body I guess. I have a meeting today with an Oncologist but have received the test results and gone over them. I was actually scared to death to look at the results when they came and in fact, thought about it for a while before even looking. From what I can tell though, there is nothing terrible. There is only one thing listed as possibly abnormal but I don't think it's very serious. Something about possible Lipoma near my adrenal gland but it says it is likely just some type of fatty tissue and even if not, they are usually non-malignant. Chest, liver, kidneys and etc. were all good. Surprising since I've been a smoker for the better part of 50 years. So today I meet with an Oncologist and then I actually get a break tomorrow. Then on Friday I go in for the biopsy and radiation plaque surgery on the eye. I feel sure that it's going to be a very uncomfortable weekend but nothing I haven't been through before. I'm glad that I get a break tomorrow because I have a couple of stairlift service calls waiting.1 point

I know it's hard to dwell on the facts day to day, but hearing that you are still fighting the good fight is music to our ears! Please know that WE haven't given up on you yet, old friend, so please don't give up on yourself! On a brighter note, you'll be able to wear your PIRATE costume AGAIN at Halloween! Keep us posted, and you might want to transfer your "Angel Bell" from your bike to your car this week! Just sayin'! Earl and Jean.1 point

Ignition Relay Ordered and Received. Bought TWO Ehdis 30amp/40amp 5-pin relays (two to a box) for $9.73 off ebay. Installed to replace original relay and now all is well. Posting this if it helps anybody in sourcing a replacement Ignition Key Add-On Relay (or just a 5-pin relay in general). VentureRelayInstalled.mp41 point
