It's pretty simple, actually. Run the carbs dry or drain the bowls. Then, using a syringe fill the carbs to over flowing with the car cleaner of your choice and let them soak as long as you feel is safe based on the aggressiveness of your carb cleaner. The process is not guaranteed, but it does give you the chance to clean the carbs up internally at least to a small degree without pulling them off the bike. The biggest problem with this type of passive cleaning is that the carb cleaner can't clean what it doesn't touch. It is absolutely worth a try. It might fix you right up and save many hours of tearing thigs apart and putting them back together.2 points

It makes sense considering I read somewhere that fighter pilots use suits that apply compression to the lower part of their body's during ZERO-G maneuvers, to prevent them from blacking out .2 points

I think I know what kc61 is trying to say since I've gone through dealer visits over for the last month or so after complaining so long about the same problems that everyone else is having w/ their 2018s from the start (fob, informant and map problems). My dealer 1st replaced the brake switch (again) and updated the system (I did it the 1st time). After the update, the GPS had me somewhere in the middle of Lake Michigan. I live in Milwaukee. Then, the fob and GPS antennas were replaced after problems with the update. The new parts and the map update did nothing to correct the problem so save your $100.00. Now, Yamaha is sending out the new, updated (2021) informant system. My dealer said it will be a total replacement. He stated Yamaha said I had to go through all of the previous B.S. before getting to this point. I did call Yamaha a few times to complain. At some point I think Yamaha will save some money and skip on unnecessary parts replacement and just replace the system as a whole. I'll keep everyone updated.2 points

Hi all, For us older riders, to include my brother @cowpuc I did a review on the Copper Joint compression socks and knee sleeve. Seriously, the FDA and the CDC both recommend them for people that sit a lot, like we do gas stop to gas stop. I don't know about you but I get light headed getting up from the ground after playing with my grandson on the floor. Here is my review. Copper Joint has an interesting twist that worked for me but I also bought other brands now that I know compression socks work for m https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2021/08/21/copperjoint-compression-socks-and-sleeve-review-riding-tested/ Hope this helps, Comments always welcome. Been waffling on upgrading the 83 for couple years. Priced right, already had the upgraded seat for tall, fat boys (like me), exhaust really sounds nice. 2013 Honda Gold Wing F6B Deluxe Led lights, Pathfinder turn signals and running lights with integrated turn signals Kuryakan running lights ?, Cobra 6 into 6 exhaust installed with torque loops, Ultimate king seat. 24k miles, 1/2 worn tires. Great records, one owner, always dealer serviced.1 point

I have working on garage and shop door springs since 1974 and became a government approved repair and installer in 1986 ...I can tell you when you work with torsion springs DO NOT BE IN A HURRY ..take your time ......any easy way of finding the wire size is .....Count 20 turns of the spring , measure the distance of the 20 turns ...Then divide the 20 into the distance of the 20 turns ...There should be a number on the winding cone you can cross to the size...Or you can measure the ID of the inside of the spring with a slide caliper ..IE.. 4.85 divided by 20 = .24225 wire size often we use .243 ..Most torsion springs on a 7 foot or 8 foot high door have a 2 inch ID ...Numbers turns to wind is cable size x 3.14 will give you the distance around the pulley ..A 4 inch pulley will measure 12 inches a round ..On s 7 foot high door you will need to wind the torsion spring 7 turns ..A 8 foot high door you need to wind the the torsion spring 8 turns .... On larger or higher doors the spring calculation works on the math 3.14 time cable pulley diameter1 point

Some of you may have followed my effort to sell my Goldwing, after it sold I wondered what I would do to fill the void , well about a month ago I figured it out and went and bought this, just spent the whole day washing , clay baring and waxing it. Certainly gave me something to do and it is fun to drive. I am sticking around monitoring the forums, hoping I can still be of help from time to time.1 point

Probably because both the CDC and WHO released documentation in May of 2020 stating healthy people should 'not' wear a mask. There are equal amounts of research on both sides of this and I personally know a microbiologist who was shut down and threatened that he would lose his grants if he did not fall in line. This guy was on the front line of AIDS when it first came out and helped develop some of the meds used today. I think he qualifies as an expert in this area of Science. Remember that SCIENCE it supposed to be objective. What the CDC, WHO and other government Bureaucracies are doing is not based on SCIENCE. It is based on fear and control with THEORIES that fit the agenda. OK leaders I'm ready for my time out.1 point

I have no doubt it's a great touring bike. This is probably Yamaha's last attempt at a full dress touring bike. Yep, I wonder how well it would have sold if it had a detuned version of the 1700cc V4? We'll never know. During the 15 years of selling the Gen 2, I suspect it would have sold a lot better is they had upgraded it a little by eliminating the gear whine and adding fuel injection. Those two things are the only complaints I have with my RSV.1 point

I have talked to Cowpuc recently. Here is what he wrote to me. I don't think he would mind me sharing it. Hey,, Hi Don! As always, good to hear from you, hope all is well with you folks. Miss you too brother! Life has taken a ton of changes for Cheryl and I, as you probably know, due to my health, we are no longer riding (we did get out for a short spin yesterday, it was great to get out again) and spending a lot of our time in California playing with the grandkids. I am taking a break from cyber world as much as possible as I attempt to sort out this next phase of life for us. Dont give my screen name away though as I plan to be back,, faster, stronger and more able to stir pot. Well, at least able to stir the pot adequately lol. Thanks for touching base my friend, I appreciate it! Tip sends her love as do I!! Me P.S. - we did go thru Sturgis on our way home from California a couple days ago and get this, we got to ride (was driving our car so not actually riding with them) with the Hells Angels!! After 200 miles of riding with them we partied with them a little in a gas station parking lot and Tippy stood in the middle of them and started telling ride stories of days past LOL... I am building a really good supply of ride stories to tell on my return to VR in the future.. PREPARE YOURSELF BROTHER!!1 point

I bought one last month when they went on sale with $100 off to replace my Zumo 550 that I'd had since '07 that died last year. It is a very nice unit. I like that I can see my notifications on the screen. Kind of miss the Sirius XM that the 550 had. I mounted it like I had the old 550 mounted. Using the Powerlet allows the whole unit to be easily removed from the Ram ball joint. I never did like the idea of leaving the mounting base attached at all times. Would have preferred to cut down the low voltage wire but having it bundled is mostly out of sight. I mounted the transformer (rectangular box) between the the two flat surfaces to keep it out of the way. Using nylon insert locknuts maintains rigidity of the the base without putting undue stress on the transformer. According to LD rider Greg Rice, the transformer is not waterproof so I put a bead of silicone on it. Overall, I am happy with it.1 point

For those of you that remember Angel (DarkAngel) and Lori Delarosa, they could use our help and prayers right now as they battle Covid. They are both hospitalized and stand to loose their business if recovery takes too long. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10221152862556747&id=14003135720 points

Just wanted everybody to know that I will not be on VR for a while. While we were Vogel the North Georgia mountains last weekend I developed a tear and a detached retina in my right eye. After visiting a specialist upon examination that I have several tears of the retina in my left eye also, I will be having laser surgery on my left eye this afternoon Wed. to correct my vision in that eye, as soon as that is healed sufficiently within two or three weeks I will be having inpatient surgery on my right eye which involves cutting and laser to fix that problem. I will likely not get my full vision back in the right eye but chances are good that my vision will be restored in the left eye. As far as the right eye it's not expected to get back to the same vision I had before it happened. Would appreciate your prayers at this time0 points
