  1. This is probably boring and mundane for most of the guys here, but I found it fascinating and well done. Of course having it done as a cartoon was necessary for my pea-brained self.

  2. I have no doubt it's a great touring bike. This is probably Yamaha's last attempt at a full dress touring bike. Yep, I wonder how well it would have sold if it had a detuned version of the 1700cc V4? We'll never know. During the 15 years of selling the Gen 2, I suspect it would have sold a lot better is they had upgraded it a little by eliminating the gear whine and adding fuel injection. Those two things are the only complaints I have with my RSV.

  4. That was a very interesting and well made video. it really demonstrates the mechanic's behind how a motorcycle transmission works in a simple understandable format. Over my years as a mechanic I have seen some training videos that do more to confuse a new apprentice than educate them.

  7. I've been away for a while. After I drain all of the oil and replace the bottom O ring I replace the oil with 125ml of Honda 10w Suspension Fluid. I use a cheap ($5) meat injector from Walmart to replace the oil. After removing the needle it screws directly onto the schrader valve. I've attached O ring replacement instructions, a photo and a drawing of a simple tool I designed to make the job easy. PM me with any questions you may have. 10. Make sure the gas tank is venting properly. When it starts missing, remove the gas cap to see if it is under vacuum.

  11. Could be a bad ignition coil(s). Intermitten miss only after they heat up.

  12. Wasn't on either of my Ventures, but I DID coat the inside of the fuel tank on my 85 Honda CB700sc (Nighthawk S) with POR tank sealer, so I can finally get it back on the road...just in time to go for a quick ride or two before putting it away again. Non ethanol fuel and Seafoam.....I'll run the carbs dry.

  13. Interesting point. Besides now-a-days they have some very effective LED road flares, saves from using up the bikes battery or convenient if the bikes battery is already Dead. https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=LED+road+flares

  14. I have talked to Cowpuc recently. Here is what he wrote to me. I don't think he would mind me sharing it. Hey,, Hi Don! As always, good to hear from you, hope all is well with you folks. Miss you too brother! Life has taken a ton of changes for Cheryl and I, as you probably know, due to my health, we are no longer riding (we did get out for a short spin yesterday, it was great to get out again) and spending a lot of our time in California playing with the grandkids. I am taking a break from cyber world as much as possible as I attempt to sort out this next phase of life for us. Dont give my screen name away though as I plan to be back,, faster, stronger and more able to stir pot. Well, at least able to stir the pot adequately lol. Thanks for touching base my friend, I appreciate it! Tip sends her love as do I!! Me P.S. - we did go thru Sturgis on our way home from California a couple days ago and get this, we got to ride (was driving our car so not actually riding with them) with the Hells Angels!! After 200 miles of riding with them we partied with them a little in a gas station parking lot and Tippy stood in the middle of them and started telling ride stories of days past LOL... I am building a really good supply of ride stories to tell on my return to VR in the future.. PREPARE YOURSELF BROTHER!!

  17. Picked this out of her front paw! No air loss, but I believe there's a weak spot so on with the new tires.
