  1. Hey Tom, Before you go tearing everything apart, I would try the old 35mm film trick! In the "Old Days" you could get a piece of 35mm camera film and slide it in the lip of the fork seal. Run it around the the fork tube once or twice, and it would reseat the seal lip and clean out any foreign particles trapped under the seal lip. Since 35mm film is pretty much a thing of the past, I use .005" S.S. Shim Stock. If you can't find any shim stock, PM me your address, and I will send you a piece to try out. This is a much easier fix than replacing the fork seals, or the O'Rings on the anti-dive unit. Let me know if I can help! Earl

  5. Opened up the fairing this weekend to install an LED headlight bulb and fix my passing lamps. The fuse for my passing lamps looked good, but the fuse holder wasn’t closing tight enough to make good contact, so I wired in a new blade type fuse holder that I had in the tool box and while I was at it I added a few extra inches of wire so I could run the fuse to the rear opening of the fairing by the triple trees. Now if the fuse blows I don’t have to split the fairing to replace it. IMG_1411.MOV

  6. I have been trying out the bosch ESI6 brake fluid and so far like it very much. I find improved clutch and brake response over the dot 3 and dot 4. It is a little more expensive though https://www.boschautoparts.ca/en/auto/brakes/ca-esi6-brake-fluid here is an interesting comparison chart of brake fluids which includes both wet and dry boiling points. For those who don't know the difference, The Dry Boiling Point of brake fluid refers to the boiling temperature of fresh, new brake fluid from an unopened container. Whereas the Wet Boiling Point is defined as the temperature DOT brake fluid will begin to boil after it has absorbed 3.7% water by volume. DOT brake fluid will reach this level of water volume after roughly 2 years of service, which is why it is advisable to renew your brake fluid every 1-2 years. https://www.lelandwest.com/brake-fluid-comparison-chart.cfm

  9. I had an "Oh $hit" moment a few years back on the RSV. Never had any real problems except the occasional rear lock up. While in the mountains following a SUV he was on the brakes so much I kept catching him. Mine got hot and boiled the fluid. Scared the bejesus out of me. So pedal went all spongy like had air. I used the mighty vac and emptied reservoir then ran probably a half bottle of DOT 4 thru it.

  15. I am with yo skid. Every year I looked forward to Maintenance Day, the WNY rally and the roaming international rallies, and hooking up with all the great friends I made through this website over the years. For a time we even had a good Ontario Rally and a meet and eat or two going. I hate to admit it but I am getting a little bored running the same local roads over and over. I hope things get back to normal sooner rather than later.

  16. Stopped by Fin Feather and Fur yesterday just to look around., Ended up buying another pistol. I bought a Kimber Micro 9. Also picked up 5 boxes of 9mm ammo. They had plenty of Ammon but there was a 5 box limit. I have several pistols and my carry piece is a Sig Sauer P365. It's a good gun for carry because it holds 12 rounds and is small. This one is about as small but only holds 8 rounds with the extended magazine. Still, I prefer the looks and feel of the hammer fired 1911 style pistols. The Sig will still be my main carry piece but I like this one just because of the styling, finish, etc. BUT.....I haven't kept up with the new models in a while and just learned that Cold is making the .44 Anaconda again. I think that will be my next major gun purchase. They are expensive but I've wanted one for many years. Anyway, here is a pic of the new addition. It goes well my my Crimson Carry in .45.

  17. No I actually have long legs. I can put my feet down flat and still slightly bend my knees. My inseam is 35". This is the extended part. It replaces the short part that comes standard with the highway pedal.https://www.kuryakyn.com/products/559/male-mount-footpeg-extensions
