Here is one more step in us finding things to share in together during our wonderful retirement years, ELECTRIC BICYCLES!! After 3 months of researching E-Bikes we chose to spend the extra bucks and go for a pair of the Rattan LM-750's. If you click on my host name in youtube (Puc Puc) found below this video you will find countless videos thru the years of us criss-crossing/tent camping in our great country on Tweeks, our 1983 Yamaha Venture and then, after illness kicked us off riding long distance on our motorcycle we started traveling/camping in our brand new 2018 (has 75k on it now) Hyundai Ioniq named "Trooper". Some of the things we looked for in E-Bikes was smaller 20" wheels, 4 inch tires for stability, at least a 750 watt motor to climb the big hills, at least a 13ah battery, lights with brake lights, REGENERATIVE motor to recharge batteries when coasting and totally foldable so we could put both bikes inside Trooper with us when we traveled. We found all that, AND MORE, with this particular set of bikes. These bikes also have THROTTLES so we can ride them like Mopeds (which I do 95% of the time, WOW is that fun!!) and Cruise Control! The mechanical normal bike tranny is a 7 speed and the motor pedal assist options a 5 "speeds". These will run a top speed of 24 mph which is wayyy faster than we enjoy bicycle travel. What a wonderful way to enjoy the freedom of the great American outdoors with your best friend!!2 points

Today, in a bittersweet moment, I sold The Beast. The 1983 XVZ12TK that started this love affair with 4 cylinder, liquid cooled monsters. To be honest, she hasn't really been mine for about 3 years. I gave her to my son, then took her back as a trade in on my '86 when I got the Black Cherry 2006 RSV. She wasn't getting any road time and I hated to see her sitting there all alone and rotting away with neglect. So a new owner, a prior forum member, now has a resto project and hopefully The Beast will shine again!2 points

After moving to the new forum software, the membership expirations no longer work. Only people who became supporting members under this new software will get renewals. I am trying to send out emails to all existing members but please check your records and see when your memberships expire. If you need to renew, you do it by clicking on "Store" in the menu bar and you can renew there as you always did. After that, you will get your usual notices. If you get an email about your renewals, please let me know if you question it and I can check my records manually.1 point

Folks, here is something that you need to know., I don't like the way it works but have not found a way to change it. Once you subscribe, you will be automatically charged and renewed after one year. I have never done automatic renewals before and personally don't like them for several reasons but some people actually do like it. The point is, if you DON'T want your membership to automatically renew after your year is up, you need to go back after you subscribe and turn it off. You do that by clicking on "Store" then "My Details" and then "PayPal Subscriptions". There you can cancel it. That does not refund your money for subscribing and your membership will still be valid but it won't automatically renew after a year.1 point

Hey Earl, the bike left, not me.😀 I hope your feeling better and stronger each day! I did tell Scott that I got the clutch set up from you. And when I rode with the Venturers a guy bought one of those F6B Goldwings. What a great bike!1 point

@vulcanb822Now that I can see it is on the right side of the bike running along the frame you can disregard my previous post since I assumed the initial picture was of the left side. It is not the coolant overflow drain line as that is the clear tube in the picture. That black hose most likely connects to the bottom of the rubber boot around your fuel tank filler neck. Its a drain tube in case you overflow the neck while refueling. You will find the nipple for it at the bottom left front corner of that boot.1 point

Posted this over in New member's. Maybe that was the wrong spot? Hi I'm Chris. Was turned onto this forum by my friend on FB. I will likely be pretty quiet but wanted to introduce myself. Been going back and forth about keeping or selling a 04 Midnight RSV I acquired last fall for what I thought was cheap but now I kinda feel like I overpaid after repairs. Repairs are ongoing. So far I've done the carb swap with Mike. I'm not sure what he goes by on here. Need to do the shock rebuild with Mr. Fitzgerald. I replaced plugs, coils, frost plugs in the jugs. Need to rebuild slave cylinder, do Barnett pressure plate upgrade and possibly clutch plates. I do have the original motor with 130k miles on her that supposedly got pulled because the PO overheated it and blew a head gasket. Will try to rob clutch plates from it and only buy pressure plate. Something is funky in the headlight/passing lamps so I'll dig into that sometime this year. I'm sure they are wired wrong as they come on with the bright's and cause everything up front to dim. The toggle switch for them does not work either. Honestly if I could get what I paid for it plus what I've put into it since I would get something different. But that's never going to happen so I'll see the project through to completion. Ive put almost 1000 miles on it despite it's problems and I really love the power and handling. She really is a good bike which is why I am actually willing to continue her restoration. I'm sure as I ride her more I will fall in love and keep it forever. Thanks for allowing me to be here. I signed up in October and just purchased the supporting subscription. Guess you're stuck with me now LOL.1 point

INDEED @buddy!! I can verify that cause these things are PERFECT on my once repaired but still needing surgery neck at C2 spine, Dupentrens infected left hand, pacemakered tuned heart, herniated abdomen where they pulled the fist sized tumor, titanium spliced together lower spined body!! YOU are on the right track! Just make sure you get a regenerative motor so you never have to push and you'll be in business!! @ragtop69gs,,,, OH MAN RAGGY,, YOU NAILED IT!! Remember those huge hills along our lakeshore? WOWZY WOW WOW,, 5th "gear" on the motor potentiometer choice so I get full power to the motor,, wack the throttle and this little sucker CLIMBS!! Not yet! As soon as I tumble down a couple mountains and twist up a neck (on the bike) I have plans of chopping mine with a 10 over springer and that will DEFINITELY have hiway pegs @Marcarl Nailed it @Squidley,,, nailed it bigly my precious brother! Stickers not needed to hold these together YET @SpencerPJ LOL.. Just an FYI,, this model is very well done on the welds (I tigged for years for the Boilermakers and still got just about enough eyesight left to still be able to undercutting and lack of pen) brother and full suspention. It is rated at 330 pounds with over and under gusseting on the neck to seat tube cross bar.. Seems to be very well built, IMHO so far. My neighbor seen ours and now has 3 on order. Problem is, our rugged Military looking steeds are sold out and he ended up having buy a girly bike model LOL Thanks for posting that pic of Tweeks @saddlebum, sooo many precious memories in her and her earned stickers.. She is not done yet either, I just ordered new stator, regulator, gaskets, plugs, oil filter and will be going thru her very soon in prep for showing off our local amazing lake shore riding to unaware visitors to our area.. The coast to coast touring and tent camping days may be gone (but wow what memories) but Tip, Tweeks and I will ride locally as long as possible. As far as stickers on the e-bikes,, they gotta earn em and when they do I will find a way!! Only if I drag them behind Troop to make the rear wheels of the bikes spin in regen mode LOL.. What you talking about @Flyinfool,, you know neither of these bikes can read and better than I can so any comments made by the Manufacture dont mean much to either of us LOL LOL,, Corporal Newkirk,, LOL!! No wiser or more perfectly put words have ever been spoken @RDawson LOL... One time, while Tip, Tweeks and I were miles and miles back on the single track/outback of the Black Hills of South Dakota Tweeks and I were discussing this very issue. We both came to the same conclusion,, that being that the decision of whether or not any motorized two wheeler is capable of off road adventure is 100% a decision to be made by bike and rider,, not by some engineer sitting behind a computer drawings circles and squares LOL1 point

Nice 200 mile round trip today to a place called Lindisfarne in the North of England Mind you it was so windy I thought we were gonna end up in Oz!1 point

The Progressive fork springs felt a lot better but it started missing. When I jammed my homemade throttle cable through the wrong route then yanked it out and jammed it through again it pulled on a plug wire. When I got to the coils and saw what the wires looked like I decided to install new ones. Ordered a plug wire set for a Suzuki Swift, a throttle cable for a 86 Gold Wing LTD, and an oil filter today. Gonna relocate the TCI like I read on this site while I'm waiting for them to arrive.1 point

Bike looks great! Its funny how as an owner we can see all the little things that bug us that no one else ever notices! Now you need a month of weekends, good weather, and a horizon to claim.1 point

Still riding my 1st gen 1990 (68k miles on it). Not as much anymore since my wife riding partner passed away 21 months ago. I have an 8 yr old grandaughter that just started riding with me. But not the same. As long as I have health to hold it up I will continue riding.1 point
