Blue Beard and I made a trip up to bike week the year they came out. Got in a test ride. I cant remember alot about it, and that is kind of sad. Nothing that was memorable per say. It was cool the sport vs road mode, but some had that before. It seemed sluggish unless in sport. And this is from a V-twin rider. It was a nice rider, but I wouldnt trade in my current ride. I also like alot of us thought the V-4 water cooled motor would have been a better bet.2 points

it's really too bad we couldn't get the rally going this year, maybe it is really too much for one or two people to try to handle, maybe we should go back to a committee.....IDK, just a thought. we had a lot of fun and really enjoyed meeting all of you. I am really hoping we can get back on track for next year.....COVID BE DAMNED!! I also think we need a better way of contacting people since I only just now saw that a rally was even being thought of for this year. Hope you all have a safe and full riding season, take care & God bless. Tiger Lilley & Star Gazer Lilley2 points

No ya lop eared varmints,, not that kind of spring!! THIS kind of spring!!! Been waiting forever for my 12 and 14 pound hammer springs from Wilson Combat to show up for Tony the Beretta so I could begin the process of figuring out where he will reside. I am getting ready now to drop in the 12 pounder and then its off to the woodlands (as soon as Spring spring gets here) to see if the 12 will fire/cycle 22lr, subsonic 9mm and standard 9mm.. If not I will work my way up the scale till I reach the spring that produces the outcome needed and then that is where Tony and I will live forever in perfect harmony!! After tuning Tony I am planning on tuning Tweeks but she may have to wait an extra month or so as, for some reason,, those Kanuckians keep sending down their cursed temps below 70.. Varmints they are,, ALL of them!!1 point

I have never tested a GoPro. Here is what I believe any stand alone camera comparison looks like to the Sena 10C Evo Bluetooth 1. The Sena 10C records the audio off your mic as you are taking video so if you are narrating, it is laid down in real time. 2. Any stand alone camera will be out front and should be taking a full view picture or video. The 10C always has the side of your helmet in the field of view. Maybe a good place to sell advertising if you have a big following??? 3. Cameras don't send music, turn by turn directions, intercom conversations and phone calls inside your helmet. I haven't tried the Sena 10C off road yet but I purposely road my Venture on some pretty broken up pavement and the video was stable to my eyes.1 point

Pucster! I just got off the phone with my local Yamaha dealer. They show the stator as being the same for all the Gen 1 engines from '83 to '93. The Royal Star Ventures are different. These guys have yet to steer me wrong.1 point

Our five stand is like trap but ours has six different throwers. One is a rabbit and another is set below a hill and you only see it the last five or six seconds of flight. Those are the tuff shots. Even harder after dark.1 point

What chokes are you running? I never went down the sporting clays route but I did shoot trap with a Belgian made Browning BT-99 for quite a few years.1 point

Thanks Puc. It does shoot good. Shot my best score form our five stand last week. 20 of 25. Those darn rabbits had me stumped but I will get them with a little practice. OH I just got 850 rounds of shells from GB, they should be here sometime next week. After that we will start reloading them.1 point

I was enjoying your quest to get the old girl up and running. I'm sorry to hear about the accident, but glad you are ok! Looks like some new forks and you might be back in business.... Good luck on whatever direction you choose...1 point

If the lower size goes in freely and the upper size does not go in at all, I am happy. Keep in mind, though its true clearance decreases with, age this usually occurs mainly during the break in period 1st 60,000 miles after that they really don't change all that much and IMHO too loose means more engine noise and reduced valve opening.1 point

Wow it almost sounds like he hit deliberately. More than likely he was on his cell and did not look up before he pulled ahead. Glad your around to talk about it those type of accidents tend to be a lot worse.1 point

I'm always looking for the left turn in front of me. I don't ride in the blind spots if I can help it. I try to ride invisible. Cause I know they are not looking for me. This Guy was at a stop in the left turn lane. I slowed down watching him just sitting there. I got to the intersection and gassed to go through it. That's when he pulled out in front of me and stopped. Only going 25/30 mph. Hit Head on. 4th and main downtown Joplin.1 point

In the read only section there is a write up on repairing the tabs on the chrome windscreen trim. I did it to mine and worked out better than new. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll post a link. Found it.... https://www.venturerider.org/forum/topic/85-repair-of-chrome-windshield-trim/?tab=comments#comment-3051 point

I am not surprised as I too was thinking this is not going to happen this year with what is going on so I too will be dropping out. May as well do it now than wait to the last minute and lead every one on. I sure am going to hate missing this event for the second year in a row because if its one thing I looked forward to every year was the WNY rally. I know @BIG TOMis going to be devastated not seeing me me for the second year in a row and I hate to do it to him knowing what a sensitive guy he is but sadly it just can't be helped.1 point

Sad news on 3/19/2021 the blond beauty has been wrecked. Left turn got me in a intersection in downtown Joplin, missouri. Head on with a full size truck. I slow down watching him . He was sitting still till I got to intersection then he pulled out in front of me. Me and Nana are still sore from the crash. Front tire almost touching radiator. Will post the picture of it . ASAP THANK YOU GUYS for the help with her she was a beautiful bike. Oh yeah was getting 33.7 MPG that day. Lmao @saddlebum @cowpuc @Pasta Burner @Squidley0 points
