  1. ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END! (Or so they say!)I am officially back to work at my "Day Job" starting Monday, March 15th, 2021! All of my kits I offer, as well as the Shim Kit Loan are being offered again. The only exception to this would be the Block Off Plates. My wife has eased up a bit about letting me out in the shop, FOR NOW! I have been warned that if I come in from the shop "all beat up", that will be the end of that, so to speak. I can't tell you how grateful I am to be sitting here still on this planet, and chatting with this wonderful group of people! So, if anyone needs the Shim Kit, or anything else for that matter, just let me know! Also Thank you EVERYONE for the support during this trying time! Stay safe! Earl

  3. I've heard of taping a plastic drink bottle on the end of the barrel and it would work like a silencer but it is illegal. Anyone tried that?

  4. Get with a lawyer and form a Trust. Move all the firearms into it, then have the trust purchase and register the suppression devices.

  5. I got started on mine and Sharons RSV a few days ago and when I put it up on the lift, I noticed that the fork seal on the right side fork was starting to leak and that the lower fork cover was hitting the fork. I thought that may have been bent after we hit the deer last year, But it was the fork. So tore it down and pulled the fork and put a straight edge on it and it is tweaked, So up to the shed and grab a pair of forks, Its good to pack rat parts. Some sanding and buffing on the lower forks, new seals ,oil and a year old pair of progressive springs the front end is done. Now to switch out the clutch and get rid of that wine, change the oil, new spark plugs and sync the carbs and take it out for a ride Saturday and see how it rides out. And hope that this years first ride can not include hitting a deer or anything else.

  6. Nice looking buy. Sign up and become part of the family. The only requirement is that you not be 100% sane. All kidding aside this is one great group. Many of us have become great friends both on and off site and been here for many years.

  7. Looks just like my PK380. Really fits my hands nicely! Plus it's a joy to shoot as I can easily work the slide with my aged hands! LOL about being in the mud with the truck. I'm off to run the Mojave Trail road in 2 weeks. Tent camping all the way! I do enjoy overlanding now too! 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. 33inch BFG K02's. Stock.

  9. Just taking a quick look. https://ussolid.com/u-s-solid-motorized-ball-valve-1-4-stainless-steel-electrical-ball-valve-with-full-port-9-24-v-ac-dc-2-wire-auto-return.html https://ussolid.com/u-s-solid-1-4-brass-electric-solenoid-valve-12v-dc-normally-closed-viton-air-water-oil-fuel.html The solenoid valve is not for continuous duty, BUT the duty cycle is 8 hours, Not many can go 8 hours on a bike without having to either fill up or empty out. Both of these will close with the power off and open when the power comes on. The motorized one is a bit slow at 3-5 seconds, that may be to slow for the fuel pump to fill the carbs. There are many other brands and styles to choose from, this was just the first that popped up in my search. Prices are also reasonable.

  10. It's funny you called it a Beastie. It's nickname is "Baby Beast" or "BB" for short. My daughter calls it a "pocket sized monster truck". 😆

  11. Yeah, it's a tow strap. 😒 But because my skid plate was up against a rock under that mud it was replaced by a tow strap on the back to the red monster. The tow strap on the front was attached in the right spot, that is one of the factory tow hooks. But.....all that plastic is about to come off. I just bought a 12,000 lb. winch and have an off-road bumper with winch mount ordered. I am in the very beginning stages of building that little truck into an overlanding rig. A 3" lift and 33" BFG KM3 Mud-Terrains are in the plans. It is going to be a multi-year project but it will be an extremely capable little 4x4 when I am done. It is actually quite capable now in stock form. If it hadn't been for the rock up against the skid plate that stopped my forward progress I would not have had any trouble with that mud hole. This just happens to be one of the rare GMC Canyons with the factory installed 5.3L V8. 😁

  12. I thought I would add some additional info on the use of VMAX parts on a Second Gen. The First Gen. VMAX Heads are NOT useable on the Second Gens. The Second Gen. heads have a set of mounting holes that connect the top of the engine directly to the frame, unlike the MKI and MKII First Gens. which have an extra set of frame mounting points on the engine block. The VMAX Cams are a direct bolt on fit in the Second Gen. cylinder heads. There is enough "meat" in the heads to machine for the larger Intake Valves. The First Gen: Second Gen: and VMAX Exhaust Valves are the same size. With the taller tranny gears in the Second Gen. Final Drive, the VMAX Final Drive Swap is an excellent upgrade, and is one of the best "Bang for the Buck" upgrades that can be done to a Second Gen. for performance gains. Along with going fast, you will want to be able to STOP your bike as well. The addition of a set of R1/R6 front brake calipers is also a great idea. The late model VMAX front brake calipers are identical to the R1 calipers, just not as flashy. Both the R1/R6 and VMAX front brake calipers are a direct bolt on fit on the Second Gens. I hope this info helps, Earl
