You didn't bother me, I have thick skin lol. Just can't believe I let that happen, should've listened to what the bike was telling me. Some lessons are more costly than others. You guys are pretty knowledgeable and I'm glad to hear what yall have to say.2 points

Sorry you are going through it too Brad. I will keep you in my prayers as well.2 points

After looking at it today you guys are right, sticky float. It started hard a couple times, I just thought it was due to weak battery. Boy was I wrong, hate learning this way lol. Gas in the oil. Still looking for an engine, pinwall didn't have any and having a hard time finding one around here. Next time I have problems I will ask here, you all are pretty knowledgeable, thanks for the info and help. It is much appreciated.2 points

It's definitely no fun, I'm going through it right now, albeit not in the hospital. It's the sickest I've ever remember being in my 54 years on the planet. I'm happy to hear of the positive news on your front 👍2 points

@OrlinEngh started his thread about winter accomplishments and I thought about posting this there with my grandkids but thought "Tony" the Beretta (you get that? If so you are probably in geezer world too and might want to consider the whole bucket list thing too ) deserved his own page so here we are.. I know,, LOTS of shooters hate these things they have been around a longg time and there are other makes/models available now that accomplish the tasks of downranging ammo better BUT,, bucket list for me they are not.. The Beretta "92" has been around a longgggg time and I have ALWAYS wanted one.. Years ago, while shooting with my dad on the Police Range in Muskegon (he was a cop at the time and I was just a young Puc of maybe 6 or 7) my dad pointed out to me the importance of finding a hand gun that would come to true point of aim. "It should be an extention of your pointer finger" he would say.. Later in life I found myself going thru hundreds of shooters at swap meets (good old days) handling everything I could touch in search of that one special shooter and attempting to find a handgun like dad had taught me. I have owned MANY handguns and nothing,, not even the 29 Smith I hunted with back then, had that advantage. Then one day I found it! I lifted a Beretta 92F off the bench at a show, turned on its laser when I pointed at the wall about 75 yards away and was SHOCKED to find its "point of aim" accuracy for me. THE MAGIC WAS THERE!! Sadly I went thru life,, raising a family,, chasing across America and Canada on a Yamaha Venture, riding race tracks, playing in the snow on snowmobiles,, you know the routine,, but never ever did get to have a 92F. Till now!! Introducing Tony,, my brand new Beretta 92A1!! WHAT A MACHINE!!1 point

Yeah, it's a tow strap. 😒 But because my skid plate was up against a rock under that mud it was replaced by a tow strap on the back to the red monster. The tow strap on the front was attached in the right spot, that is one of the factory tow hooks. But.....all that plastic is about to come off. I just bought a 12,000 lb. winch and have an off-road bumper with winch mount ordered. I am in the very beginning stages of building that little truck into an overlanding rig. A 3" lift and 33" BFG KM3 Mud-Terrains are in the plans. It is going to be a multi-year project but it will be an extremely capable little 4x4 when I am done. It is actually quite capable now in stock form. If it hadn't been for the rock up against the skid plate that stopped my forward progress I would not have had any trouble with that mud hole. This just happens to be one of the rare GMC Canyons with the factory installed 5.3L V8. 😁1 point

Puc I would check elsewhere for your prints, I work in a central booking facility and if someone has a finger that can't be printed there is an option to skip that finger with reason selected. Ron1 point

No historic prints you can use? Use a tongue depressor as a backer and rock it around to get and ink print on paper.1 point

OUCH!! Sorry your not feeling well my brother. Hope you KNOW that, as in Bens famiies case, Tip and I are praying for you Brad. PRAYERS UP!1 point

And what is that green thing out the front? Looks like a tow strap to pull that Beastie out of the Goo. Sure hope it is in the right spot; that section looks like Plastic to us non-knowledgeable ones. Rgds, WRIDR1 point

Have done that myself as well and it does work ........as long as you get back to it before the master is completely empty . But of course we won't discuss how I know this..1 point

Glad to hear that @saddlebum . Sorry to see you on the other side of it @Squidley. We discussed it at work last week wondering at how if affects people in such different ways. My wife, one daughter, two brothers, one sister, and several of my nieces and nephews have had it with no major issues other than loss of taste and smell lingering for a long while. One brother has been 4 months with no taste or smell. My wife masks up everywhere and sanitizes constantly and still got it while I took no precautions even at home with her sick and as far as I know never had it yet.1 point

The hard start referred to is caused by hydro locking the engine. If carb floats stick or leak with the gas left on it will fill the cylinders with gas, then when you try to start it the liquid can’t be compressed so it bends or breaks rods. Gas will also fill the crankcase. If you replace the engine make sure to get the carbs rebuilt and set correctly or you could very well blow the new engine the same way. 1st gens aren’t near as likely to do this since their gas tanks are below the carbs.1 point

Nice Puc! Forget the naysayers and haters of the 92. I was in the Army for twelve years, most of that time as a warrant officer and the M-9 was my assigned personal weapon. I have shot M-9’s that had had thousands and thousands of rounds put through them and some were likely older than I was, and not one ever failed to put rounds on target and I can honestly say I never had a malfunction. They are a little big and heavy, and not so glamorous, but they are reliable and accurate.1 point

I inherited my brothers 2000 Royal Star Tour Deluxe when he bought a fancy BMW bike. I gave my Suzuki Volusia to my wife, and now we all go out riding together. I joined here to get some advice, look at mods, and get ready for riding season in Kansas. Brother and I are going to take a trip to Oklahoma here in a month or two, and looking at specs about my new bike. A thing that is bothering me is the fact the bike does NOT have a gas gauge. From what I am reading, after about 140-160 miles, switch to reserve, and you have about 1 gallon left to find a gas station. Happy to join this group, and look forward to gaining further knowledge of my hand me down bike.1 point

Maybe Trina's last ride before Vogel, she goes in the 10th to have back surgery so today we will take a ride and get some wind therapy. I hope everyone is still planning on being at Vogel this year.1 point

@cowpuc is that a 9mm? I’ve never liked 9’s as I’ve always found them squirrelly except my buddy has a Beretta Px4 that is solid. Never shot your new baby. For me I’ve got a few but my go to on target most comfortable and ruined most all other grips is my PK380. When I unholster and level I always think “why can’t they all be like this?” I might “Accidentally” buy the wrong ammo if I know what tool I’d like to use it in.1 point

Inner Peace during the current political campaign..... I'm passing this on because it worked for me today. A doctor on TV said that in order to have inner peace in our lives during this political campaign, we should always finish things that we start. Since we all could use more calm in our lives, I looked around my house to find things I'd started & hadn't finished. I finished a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Bayleys, a butle of wum, tha mainder of Waliuminun scriptins, an a bxo a choclutz. Yuz haz kno idr how fablus I feeeel rite now.1 point
