  1. My main winter goal has been to learn to walk again. I am pretty close now, No longer wearing the air cast or using the crutches. Around the house I can sort of walk without assistance but when heading out I still need a cane. Still hoping that I will be walking pretty good by the end of winter. I guess it is not real exciting but it is a STEP in the right direction.

  3. I have magical tools I am constantly buying 5/8" wrenches and they keep changing into 11/16' wrenches. I now own seven 11/16" wrenches which I have never bought but am lucky if I have a 5/8" wrench in my box.

  4. Bought it yesterday 3/6/21. Rode it home in the freezing rain 🌧️. PO didn't much about bikes. Just rode it around town. What I know so far is. It runs and rides good. In the freezing rain 🌧️. Lol No tail lights . Changed bulbs. Put a flashlight in it. To get it home. Got brake lights work. No dash lights. Computer, everything else works . Suspension adjustment not coming on . Or CB. No power to that side. Getting a test light now. 39k miles garage keeper by both PO.

  5. @OrlinEngh started his thread about winter accomplishments and I thought about posting this there with my grandkids but thought "Tony" the Beretta (you get that? If so you are probably in geezer world too and might want to consider the whole bucket list thing too ) deserved his own page so here we are.. I know,, LOTS of shooters hate these things they have been around a longg time and there are other makes/models available now that accomplish the tasks of downranging ammo better BUT,, bucket list for me they are not.. The Beretta "92" has been around a longgggg time and I have ALWAYS wanted one.. Years ago, while shooting with my dad on the Police Range in Muskegon (he was a cop at the time and I was just a young Puc of maybe 6 or 7) my dad pointed out to me the importance of finding a hand gun that would come to true point of aim. "It should be an extention of your pointer finger" he would say.. Later in life I found myself going thru hundreds of shooters at swap meets (good old days) handling everything I could touch in search of that one special shooter and attempting to find a handgun like dad had taught me. I have owned MANY handguns and nothing,, not even the 29 Smith I hunted with back then, had that advantage. Then one day I found it! I lifted a Beretta 92F off the bench at a show, turned on its laser when I pointed at the wall about 75 yards away and was SHOCKED to find its "point of aim" accuracy for me. THE MAGIC WAS THERE!! Sadly I went thru life,, raising a family,, chasing across America and Canada on a Yamaha Venture, riding race tracks, playing in the snow on snowmobiles,, you know the routine,, but never ever did get to have a 92F. Till now!! Introducing Tony,, my brand new Beretta 92A1!! WHAT A MACHINE!!

  6. Update fixed the tail light. It was the connection in the fuse box. CB works now. To bright to see the dash lights. Are they on the same circuit as the tail light? Now I got figure out the suspension.

  11. I like it Puc, and all of the others, I have had a few but gave up, Figured that if I could throw one and hit the target better than shooting one, I should just stay with the long guns.

  12. @cowpuc I’ve honestly never given the slide mount any thought, It’s just right there and works. Also the action is perfectly broken in that when a new mag is loaded it chambers and closes without the need of the slide release. The thing to get used to with the Walther is the paddle trigger guard mag release. It can be cumbersome. But I only carry for personal defense so I don’t carry extra mags anyway. for what you mention about the 1911 and additional action features / grip points this is my other carry. She has many ways to rack, but being a 45 also brings a much heavier spring. Since you made me pull them out and compare I think the thumb action of the safety and mag release on the 1911 is far superior to the Walther design. But again for self defense and not carrying an extra mag I love both.

  13. Ive had a set of grey sockets that ive hammered on, used with the impact, three foot pipe on the breaker bar, lent to friends, you name it and ive been pretty impressed with them over the years. Little surface rust and lots of marks but they work.

  14. @cowpuc is that a 9mm? I’ve never liked 9’s as I’ve always found them squirrelly except my buddy has a Beretta Px4 that is solid. Never shot your new baby. For me I’ve got a few but my go to on target most comfortable and ruined most all other grips is my PK380. When I unholster and level I always think “why can’t they all be like this?” I might “Accidentally” buy the wrong ammo if I know what tool I’d like to use it in.

  15. Thanks for the compliment Spence!! Come up here this summer and we can take care of the "never have shot one" routine for you!! Yeah,, "Tony" is a bucket list treasure thats for sure.. I am having wayyyy to much fun sitting here pulling his slide and looking inside !! I got the Beretta 22lr conversion kit coming for him too, I am finding that Tony the 92 is sort of like owning a Harley = endless factory and after market options available to soup em up. Next step after that arrives is into the world of silencers,, another "bucket list" adVenture ... TONS OF FUN!! I have a volume of questions I have to get answered before I get into shooting on the quiet side though,, working on that. The Class 3 world is totally new to me BUT,, retirement does have its advantages in time management!! WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, LOVE YOUR SIG BROTHER!! Down right gorgeous!!! That a 9mm? How goes the ammo sourcing? I just scored 1000 rounds of Winchester steel for 37 cents a round and I was THRILLED to get it!! Getting ready for spring to break could not be more fun!! Puc

  18. Cleaned up the garage then messed it up again then went in to the basement and cleaned up my woodworking shop again . Stripped down an 87 for parts need for my other two bikes. completed some wood working projects and continued with renovations still overdue for completion on the house. I have been off work a year now due to covid and still I don't seem to have enough hours in a day to tackle all my projects plus the HD list

  19. Nope, I have never seen them anywhere preloaded with tools. Not sure I would want to buy that way, I would rather buy what I want/need.

  20. My employer has provided us each with a set of Craftsman tools complete with metric wrenches and nut drivers of common sizes. Trouble is, I have never touched half the wrenches in that tool cabinet. We use only SAE. My vote is to build your own set of what you use. It’s cheaper than buying a set you will only use half of, and you don’t have to drag the extra weight around.

  21. NO. Each POS wire that I connected is with its own terminal on the solenoid stud all held on with the nut. You may never need to take this apart for the rest of the life of the bike so having more than one wire there is no big deal. The 40A MAXI fuse is the circuit protection, I actually had 2 of the inline MAXI fuses, one for switched power and one for the unswitched power. But they are tucked away out of sight down the side of the fairing. Just be sure to have enough slack in the wires in case you ever manage to blow a MAXI and have to replace it. The unswitched goes direct to its fuse block, the switched goes to a 40A relay and then to its fuse block. The relay has the benefit of taking all of the running loads off of the contacts in the ignition switch.

  22. For a normal summer start up, probably 5-6 clicks on the 89. If I put it in the garage hot, and then close the garage door, probably 10 or more next morning. In cooler weather, much less. If I put non-ethanol gas in it, it clicks less. If I let it cool down, turn the key on and let it pump back up, I can shut off the key and the next morning it won't click at all. I blame most of it on the ethanol fuel evaporating.
