  1. I want to take a moment and say Thank You to all my friends here at Venturerider. You've been a source of information and inspiration throughout the past years. Plus, having had the pleasure of meeting some of you at MD or on the road....has been a highlight of these years. So...I'm wishing you all a Happy Holidays and a safe and Merry Christmas! david and pat.

  3. After 6 months repairing what's needed , I have my 1983 ready to put it on the road . I went front to back on my 1983 XVZ1200 , electrical , mechanical , and a few cosmetic items . This my first Venture , and I do hope it will last the 2021 riding season .

  4. It does not matter to me, WE all know what it means. If a visitor to the site wants to try to read something into it, that is their problem.

  5. Profit before people. And as long as some of that profit finds its way into the pockets of corruptible politicians via campaign donations and sweetheart deals for their family, we can expect this type of thing to continue. The human race is doomed by greed. And I say that as a die-hard, free-market capitalist.

  6. FWIW I have a Medtronics pacemaker. My pacemaker was manufactured and installed before 5G was invented. Medtronics, one of, if not the biggest maker of pacemakers has let me know that I should keep my pacemaker away from 5G, and recommends that I do not use a 5G phone. That is all the encouragement I need to stay away from 5G.

  7. Kind of like the idea myself. The sensors would not be a problem. they are just tiny devices that pops into a small hole. Just need to devise a small receiver/alert device. PS: Found this on line and I am sure there must be others. Check out the main link and the attached video links. https://www.tadibrothers.com/category/search?keyword=blind+spot+warning+

  8. Its getting that call that something has happened that is every parents nightmare. My son has been in a number of adventures now that has ment the rebuilding of one machine or another. He's learning but he also won't let mistakes keep him from trying again. He's currently rebuilding a mxz 800 that has been plagued with mid range bogging issues. Clutch, reeds, rave exhaust bellows. Checking the pto side crankseals now, we'll get it sooner or later.

  9. Put your first love on the back of that sofa, take her for an easy ride through some country roads, and her tune might just change a bit,,, I know mine did!!

  10. An update on Earl, he is home! He got home yesterday and is recovering. I received a text stating his thanks and the text sounded upbeat. Keep praying, he still has a tough recovery, but it's looking promising 👍

  11. Well got'r home this morning... I didn't drive it, but a buddy did. We stopped for lunch and he was impressed. He stated it rode great and didn't feel like a 1-ton...and no issues. Once home I did run into a couple, but nothing earth shaking.. Mostly light bulbs, and a drivers inside door panel. That may be a problem. I called 4-5 local wrecking yards and got a big Nada... Looks like the hunt begins... Pulling big stuff was my intention With a couple of big boats, and some heavy trailers... And I'm thinking of doing a ride-about next summer. It will probably be the last time I'll have a chance to do something like this due to getting old and crotchety... My wife and I circumnavigated (whew!! big word..) the US back around '95.. Looking to maybe doing it solo again.. Taking a couple months and visiting family and friends... Rigging the van as an RV sleeper with porta potty, and airbed etc should work?? The back end of this thing is huge!! Anyway it's a bucket list plan...

  12. Thank you, I was a member several years ago, just now getting to where I have more time to lurk and see what’s going on in the Venture world.
