  1. I'm sure I've posted other beer brewing topics here in the past. I've been home brewing for many years but have not brewed regularly for a few years. Mostly because my system was cumbersome and time consuming in clean up. I could do 10 gallon, high gravity batches but my brew day was 6-8 hours per batch. I just picked up a Brewer's Edge Mash and Boil with Pump system. It's a lautering Tun and boil kettle in one set up. Now, instead of having a hot liquor tank, mash tun, and boil kettle with separate heating sources that took up 10 feet of counter space and a good bit of floor space, my 5 gallon brew setup fits on a 2'x3' table. This is my first brew with the new setup and, so far all is well!

  2. Eileen and I actually got out for a ride Friday afternoon. Hard to believe that we had such a nice day this late in November. Left about 2:00 and rode maybe 150-200 miles. Ended up in Bellville, OH and stopped for dinner. It was dark when we left and the temps had dropped into the mid 50s. Had about a hour ride home and it got a little cool but we were dressed pretty well for it. Had a great time and it sure felt good to get the bike out. Back into the 30s and raining again now. Might have been the last ride of the year for us.

  3. WAY back when this ethanol in the gas first started, there was a hotline to call with questions and concerns. At the time they claimed there would be no difference in fuel mileage. I called the hotline and was told that there is no difference, it is a simple matter of ME not knowing how to do basic math, even after I pointed out that I am an engineer and am quite capable of calculating gas mileage. their next response is that you can not just go by the result of a single tank. I then pointed out that I have a log book where every fuel fill is recorded and tracked. I was told that there must be errors in my recorded data. I tried to explain that the simple laws of physics say that IF you use a fuel with 50% less energy per gallon then you will get 50% less work done and that means half of the fuel mileage. I was then told that the laws of physics do not apply here because they are only using 10% ethanol.......? I did all of this on speaker phone and the whole engineering department was ROFLOL.

  4. I recently picked up one of these made by Alpinestars: https://www.chapmoto.com/alpinestars-amok-air-drystar-vented-textile-jacket-parent-0203207716101?msclkid=d80d919e63f8119b50dfce2461e3fc03&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=**LP - Shop - TM - Protective Gear - %24300-1,000&utm_term=4580634168710250&utm_content=020-3207716-922-3XL | Alpinestars Amok Air Drystar Vented Textile Motorcycle Jacket - Grey 3XL 3207716-922-3XL | %24319.95#92=518&250=1084?utm_term=&identifiers=pla-4580634168710250&Campaign=**LP - Shop - TM - Protective Gear - %24300-1,000&CampaignId=380457658&AdGroup=020-3207716-922-3XL | Alpinestars Amok Air Drystar Vented Textile Motorcycle Jacket - Grey 3XL 3207716-922-3XL | %24319.95&AdGroupId=1232552739056471&AdId=77034656219681&Network=s It has three layers, outer mesh, waterproof liner and then thermal liner. I've gotten a few short rides in with it ranging from 90's temp w/out the inner liners to 50's with the liners in. I like it. It has elbow/shoulder protectors built in (maybe removable, not sure) and a soft back protector. Not sure if this helps but size-wise, I'm always right at that medium feels tight & large feels big spot. My jacket is a medium and fits comfortably w/out the liners. W/ the liners, it naturally feels a bit tighter but workable. I think my only negative is I would like the cuffs to cinch up a bit tighter so I can have my gloves go over them when it gets colder. I supposed I could go the other way and cinch the cuff over the glove, but I haven't tried that yet. Style-wise, a solid black would look better, imho. This is a model from a few years ago and I'm sure you could find similar new ones in solid colors.

  7. If you look at all the unacceptable conditions on the chart you will see why I do not use it since 9 times out of ten it is the unacceptable conditions that take place. Pretty much the only time you get an acceptable result is when using new and perfectly clean oxidation free wiring. The method I use as explained earlier is much more forgiving and reliable specially when working with older wiring.
