  1. HA I say HA! It was only a few weeks ago you were getting in itchy trigger finger on a nice Vette with an (Choke Choke) automatic....Till I slapped you and brought you back to your senses. It would not be the first time I drove a stick shift car cross country with just one functional foot. Are you underestimating me AGAIN???

  2. What in the wild world of "ohhh my gosh it is cold up here Lonna, must be nearer to Fool's Wisconsin White Washer" :)))! Gotta be careful making those northern moves Squid!! Thanks my Texas Hero,, bailing Tip and I out is getting to be a way of life down there LOL! The offer is greatly appreciated! I would have to zip tie the clutch and throttle to your freshly glued back together foot to leg joints Fool,,, its a 4 speed (my pea brain just refuses to even put the words "Vette" and "automatic" in the same sentence)!! Aint no way I could come get you out of surgery to drive a clutched hot rod back home - even a Vette!! Besides, the club is gonna need you in full recouperation from your surgery down time come spring of next year - there is no one here that knows how to shut that blasted WWW off and you know how rambuncious this lop eared bunch of VR varmints gets if your WWW runs over time.. NOT A GOOD PLAN!!

  4. If you look at all the unacceptable conditions on the chart you will see why I do not use it since 9 times out of ten it is the unacceptable conditions that take place. Pretty much the only time you get an acceptable result is when using new and perfectly clean oxidation free wiring. The method I use as explained earlier is much more forgiving and reliable specially when working with older wiring.

  6. My wife and I have winter coats and pants from Nitro, purchased through Leatherup or Dennis Kirk(I don't remember for sure where) about 15 years ago. They have been phenomenal and they were quite affordable. However, on a quick search, it looks like the only new gear available from them are helmets and gloves. Maybe some MotoX stuff. I do like XElement's mesh jackets but I don't have any serious cold whether gear from them.

  8. My first car was a '53 Ford 2-door. Kinda in that mint green color. Hated it. After doing some leading and Bondo work I took it down to a local body shop to be painted metallic white. Fords white was a off brown white unlike Chevy's blue white. The painter couldn't find a metallic so he said he had a can of black metallic that he could add to the base. I agreed. What I ended up with was an off white grey in the shade and it would blow your eye-balls out in the sun... I loved it. Always wanted to do another but never had the occasion.. I also did a frame off restoration of a '69 Honda CB 750 sand cast. Did that one myself in white lacquer. You do not want fuel to drip on that stuff... Don't ask me how I know that... 🙂

  9. The paints we used when I was in back in the late 80s early 90s was a 2 part epoxy polymide. This is when they started with the new tactical paint schemes. Our bird was still the gloss color and while on my Desert Storm cruise I ended up repainting the entire aircraft 1 section at a time. I have dabbled in some of the newer basecoat clear coats out there. I would love to make a living at doing custom painting, but that's not a realistic goal at this point in my life. Perhaps in the next life I'll get to be a custom paint guy 🤷‍♂️ Now that I've thought about it for a little bit, I wonder if Honda back in the 60's was painting with lacquer. Back in the day a lacquer paint job was one you did if you wanted a super deep look. As I understand the cure times between coats was very minimal and what they would do is paint it, wet sand it and paint over it again. They might have 10 coats of paint over it and the wet sanding inbetween would create the depth. Another trick I have used as well as some brothers who custom painted was put metal flake in with the pain and put a marble in the paint gun can to keep the metal flake suspended in the paint by swishing the marble around between spraying lines.

  10. I had mine done and had a front tire installed, the whole cost was close to 1700 it was the 16000 mile service. Come to find out no the valves did not need to be adjusted. If I recall correctly, Long Haul Paul had his checked at 50,000 and they were fine he hasn't had it done since had over 100,000 on it the last I heard.
