  1. I have this thing smart things that suddenly was loaded on my samsung with one of my updates (UNASKED FOR BTW) and cannot get rid of it. The only thing it does as far as I'm concerned is use up twice as much battery power so my phone is good for a day instead of week between charges. If I try to remove or disable it, my blue tooth quits working because smart things has taken control of it. I go to my son to see if has the answers and his response is why do want to get rid of it - its great and proceeds to show me how through his cell phone he can turn lights off and on turn on his robotic vacuum control his radio or TV. I tell him I don't need all that because I got two legs that work just fine and all that crap is A just laziness and B another window for us to be spied through. He just laughs and say's Dad you need to come out of the middle ages and get with the times. Lot of help he was. Boy do I miss the so called middle ages of the 50's - 80s. When life was still fun. even though there are a few things I do admit to enjoying about technology such as this website.

  2. I have seen this issue many time over on GL1800riders.com. The sensor it self is not hard to get to, it is in behind the front timing cover, it is the connector at the end of the harness that is hard to get to. It is down in the abyss below the shelter, as I recall getting to it is similar to getting to the air filter, but maybe a bit worse, airbag models I am told are the worst one to deal with. If mine goes bad I am going to add a waterproof connector in to the harness behind the timing cover. probably something like these because of the small form factor. http://www.cycleterminal.com/jst-jwpf.html I will also say folks have had their bike's throw that code and it was just a bad battery, it does not take much to spin the GL motor over, but if the battery voltage dips to low when the starter is spinning the electronics for the ignition and fuel injectors will not work and the bike will not start. Have the battery load tested as the first step in troubleshooting.

  4. Everyone that is still seeing this thread, I am curious about your experience with the FOBO tire pressure monitoring. Did I overstate " take the emergency $100" out of your wallet? I love mine. Last ride I check my front was 35.9 and rear was 35.9. I once again did not have to waste time and dirty my clothes check the pressures. I ride solo at 36 and 2 up at 38. This was a solo ride. I think I have saved laying down about 6 times so far and at my age, that is a blessing. What about you? Any stories? Thanks VentureFar...

  6. Owner of a 2009 Yamaha Royal Star Venture and my Engine light flashes on and off intermittently for a few seconds. Did a diagnostic code test at the Yamaha Dealership and there was no code that could not be read. Mechanic explained that there is a lot bad wiring (12 volts) underneath the seat that may be causing a low voltage to the Motorcycle computer thus effecting the intermittent flashing of the engine warning light. He also mentioned that my 2009 Royal Star Venture motorcycle has its own type of built in diagnostic test? I will have to spend about $500.00 for intensive labor down the road to clean up the wiring work. It cost me $62.50 for 30 minutes labor work but I think it was worth it assuring me that at least I won't break down on the road somewhere. The engine light is still continuing to flash intermittently but life goes on! Hope this helps someone out. Ride hard and ride safe!
