Steve_Guelph Posted June 3, 2007 #1 Posted June 3, 2007 My wife and I finally got our headsets and here is what happened. Purchased IMC HS-G30 for the 07 RSMV 1. We can both hear the music in both speakers but we can't hear each other. 2. Volume is turned up for the units front and back on the intercom setting. 3. Are we not doing something wrong? We may need to meet with another venture rider in the area and let them plug into my bike to see if it is the headsets or the intercom. Any help is greatly appreciated....Steve
Maritimer Posted June 3, 2007 #2 Posted June 3, 2007 Does the music keep playing or does it cut off when you press the switch to talk? Could it be just the volume of the intercom?
Steve_Guelph Posted June 3, 2007 Author #3 Posted June 3, 2007 According to the owners book the talk button is only for the CB. I did try pushing it but still not hearing each other. When we do try and talk the music does "not" cut out. Should it?
BuddyRich Posted June 3, 2007 #4 Posted June 3, 2007 So you have the IC set to 10 or higher on the control where it says IC ?
BradT Posted June 3, 2007 #5 Posted June 3, 2007 I think it is IC volume on the radio cb controller. There is no push to talk it is voice activated sort of (all you have to so is speak Anyway is the vvolume up on the IC I think I had to have mine up to about 18 before we could here each other. Brad
BuddyRich Posted June 3, 2007 #6 Posted June 3, 2007 No. the music does not cut off. It only cuts off for the cb
Steve_Guelph Posted June 3, 2007 Author #7 Posted June 3, 2007 Running out to the garage to turn the volume to MAX. Be back in a minute.
SaltyDawg Posted June 3, 2007 #8 Posted June 3, 2007 The intercom is "HOT" all the time. You only have to turn the IC volume up until you hear yourself. If you are not hearing either one then I would have to assume that something is wrong with your MICs. It is possible that there is a problem with the unit, but I have never heard of any IC problems with the RSV. I usually check my MIC to see if it's working by turning the IC up to about 15 then blowing into the mic.
Steve_Guelph Posted June 3, 2007 Author #9 Posted June 3, 2007 Put the volume on the IC to 20 and still nothing. We can hear the radio, the CB, but the IC don't seem to work. 5 pin is correct?

The dealer requested two more MICs. I wonder if they are not the right ones. I should meet with another Venture rider and let them plug in. I hope it is just the MICs. Everything else works fine. The roger beep on the CB, the hissing through the headsets when I turn the IC to full....just no sound coming from the MIC's. Seems odd that both don't work so it must be the wrong ones when they replaced them.
BuddyRich Posted June 3, 2007 #11 Posted June 3, 2007 It is a 5 pin system. Only thing I can think of is the headsets are incompatable. You need to have somebody with aset of J&M's try it

Steve
RedRider Posted June 3, 2007 #13 Posted June 3, 2007 Find someone with a CB and see if you can broadcast. If someone can hear you over the CB, your mics are working. RR
rod Posted June 3, 2007 #14 Posted June 3, 2007 Rose had this problem and it turned out to be a bent pin on the connetor. You can check the pins to see if they are straight. Rod
Cougar Posted June 3, 2007 #15 Posted June 3, 2007 -Turn the Dial Up on the left passenger side arm rest... (try again) -There is no button to push to talk (to hear each other) -Needs to have about 14 min to hear on the IC. Good luck Jeff
