Superdave Posted September 9, 2008 #1 Posted September 9, 2008 Has anyone tried to hook up a Mp3 player to the existing radio on a first gen. I have a 92 model. Seems it may be a good replacement for the AWSOME casset player! ....Dave
bongobobny Posted September 9, 2008 #2 Posted September 9, 2008 Yup!! Buy a cassette adapter from Wally World, Radio Crap, or even your local Drug Store and plug in your MP3 and enjoy commercial free music you want to hear!!
Superdave Posted September 9, 2008 Author #3 Posted September 9, 2008 That is way to simple! I was looking for a much more complicated method!! Thanks......Dave
utadventure Posted September 9, 2008 #4 Posted September 9, 2008 If your cassette player doesn't work at all, you can remove it and connect an 3.5mm port into the system with a switch to turn it on & off. I've attached the schematic that I was given here on the site. You knew someone could make it more complicated!! See the following thread for more info. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21667 Dave
GigaWhiskey Posted September 9, 2008 #5 Posted September 9, 2008 I'll stick with my cassette adapter for now as that thing in the middle of that diagram makes no sense to me or even what it is.
BradT Posted September 10, 2008 #6 Posted September 10, 2008 "Mother" Made up a connector which all you had to do was unplug the Cassette and plug in the adapter, which plugged into the MP3 or GPS. He had a drawing at one time, you may want to PM him. Brad
bongobobny Posted September 10, 2008 #7 Posted September 10, 2008 Be nice to him and he may even make it up for you...

I knew there was a complicated way to do a simple task. Thanks for the post!
