Bob Myers Posted September 7, 2008 #1 Posted September 7, 2008 I had a system in place with 4 cameras and a dvr. The dvr died and left me with monitoring capabilities but no recording. The monitor receives and powers the cameras, and then feeds the dvr. I need recommendations on something that won't cost more than what the last thieves I caught on camera were taking:mo money: The monitor output is via a BNC cable
stardbog Posted September 8, 2008 #2 Posted September 8, 2008 Bob, I I'm in that branch, and when you say doesent record, thats maybe sign your Hard Drive is go bad. Try to open unit and install new HD. Most of new DVR's have standard ATA or SATA Drives, Get new one and try from there. Other Good source is one of those packages in superstore ( Wall-Mart, Sam's Club, Costco ...) Which Model / Make is Your Existing DVR? Give Us some more Info. One More Question? Setup you are explain in post say cameras are connected to monitor... What kind of connections are cameras using BNC , RCA or RCA Composite video out and separate Power. Cameras are usualy connected into DVR abd DVR feed Monitor.
