Deacon Posted September 6, 2008 #1 Posted September 6, 2008 I'm looking for a back rest that will go with a 06 RSTD stock seat.. I know the mustang seats are good but I didn't want to spend 600+ for one. "Unless I don't have a choice" Anyone have or know of a Back rest for the RSTD ?? Thanks In advance
vipermax07 Posted September 6, 2008 #2 Posted September 6, 2008 i got a backrest off of e-bay from a company in grand island nebraska that fits the stock seat of the venture. he had several other seat options available. he only sells on line or from e-bay. it only cost $110 for mine. i dont have the web site since i had to have the computer fixed. i will try to find it.
vipermax07 Posted September 6, 2008 #3 Posted September 6, 2008 here is the link to their web site. give them a call and see what they can do. it is a very simple but comfortable design http://firehousecustoms.com/index.htm

Deacon Posted September 6, 2008 Author #5 Posted September 6, 2008 Nothing for the RSTD there.. Anyone else using a back rest with the stock seat ??
johnny-canuck Posted September 7, 2008 #6 Posted September 7, 2008 I got a backrest for my Venture from Utopia. It is built to match the seat, is thin and adjustable. Installs in about 20 minutes. I've had it on for a year and half and it is great. Passenger hardly notices it. http://www.utpr.com/royalstar2005.html
bdyohecomcast.net Posted September 7, 2008 #7 Posted September 7, 2008 i bought mine from pallidan in sc. i believe it was 125-175 and it is removable and you can get it with studs also got one for my wifes vtx 1800 we both love them
starcruiser Posted September 7, 2008 #8 Posted September 7, 2008 and I love it. It is easily adjustable, folds down for easy access, installed easily, and was about $180. Mark
vipermax07 Posted September 7, 2008 #9 Posted September 7, 2008 contact firehouse, maybe no one has ever asked for one.
Grey Ghost Posted September 7, 2008 #10 Posted September 7, 2008 I have had the Utopia for a year now on my 06 RSTD and wouldn't leave home without it. Simple to install and if I get tired of one position, I simply reach around behind with my left hand and adjust it while driving down the road. Jeff
Bigfoot Posted September 7, 2008 #11 Posted September 7, 2008 I put the Utopia on and had to remove as soon as I hit the street. Being tall created a problem and I think any backrest would have been a problem. When I turned into a parking lot the end of the bar hit my knee almost causing me to crash in the turn. Once I put risers on this took care of the issue. I reinstalled the Utopia and really do like it. It's still causes me to be a little too far forward but the trade off with the less painful back seems to be worth it. I'm 6'5 so consider this when installing the. If you're under 6 foot then I doubt you'll have any issues.
BobanVal Posted September 7, 2008 #12 Posted September 7, 2008 Diamond R and I didn't have to cut the seat for the post. It fits around the seat.
Deacon Posted September 7, 2008 Author #13 Posted September 7, 2008 Utopia it is... I Love this site Thanks All
