woz111 Posted September 4, 2008 #1 Posted September 4, 2008 Hi all, Does anyone have a fuse holder for the accessory fuse, my one's snapped, it the small white red wire that screws into the fuse box. I've looked for new holders, crimping type but can't find any.
sarges46 Posted September 4, 2008 #2 Posted September 4, 2008 Why not change that old technology to new stuff. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19715&highlight=fuse+block Try this thread.
skydoc_17 Posted September 4, 2008 #3 Posted September 4, 2008 Hey Woz, I went with a different style of ATC fuse holder from Ebay, I liked the idea of the terminals being fully enclosed, also the cover of this fuse holder is sealed from dirt and moisture with an o-ring. Check my profile for a complete discription of the install with pics and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Always a pleasure to help a brother rider from the other side of the "pond"! Ride Safe, Earl
woz111 Posted September 4, 2008 Author #4 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) Hi Sarges46, I have thought about doing this upgrade, but I do like to try and keep things original if I can, if I can't get the parts however an upgrade it'll have to be. Hi Skydoc 17, I know what fuse holders your on about as I was thinking if I do go the upgrade road then these are what I'd use. I've also got a Honda VT500E that I've rebuilt and I'm going to do this upgrade to that first, all 4 fuses were rusted solid so I've no option there. Edited September 4, 2008 by woz111
Gdserlin Posted September 4, 2008 #5 Posted September 4, 2008 For a quick fix, go to Napa. You can buy a singles relacement "tube" for the glass fuse or a little ruber container that accepts the plastic spade fuse. All you need is a soldering gun, connector and heat shrink, but the electrical tape in a bottle will work. The OEM fuse holders are not worth replacing with used parts. The NAPA fix will cost you less then $ 5.00 for the parts.
