eazyduzzit Posted September 6, 2008 Author #26 Posted September 6, 2008 I have read tons of reviews about the bike. 99% of them were positive. I want the bike so bad I can taste it, but I've ridden 2 of them (the 2nd one belonged to a friend of mine). His didn't whine nearly as bad as the one I was thinking of buying and it had Bub pipes on it. I think what I'll do is keep looking until I find one that isn't as bad. My wife went on the test ride with me, and she said it sounded like the Jetson's sky car. I guess I could just pretend I'm flying to Spacely Sprockets.
Dave77459 Posted September 8, 2008 #27 Posted September 8, 2008 I never noticed the whine I guess, but now after reading this thread I am fixated on it. I suppose I'll have to group ride behind some Harley's with blow-through pipes to cure myself of that and appreciate my quiet, quiet bike.
Obber Posted September 8, 2008 #28 Posted September 8, 2008 Wine!!!??? What WINE??????:rotfl::rotfl: Sorry could resist.:crackup:
eazyduzzit Posted September 12, 2008 Author #29 Posted September 12, 2008 Well, when I get the fever I can't be stopped. I test drove another RSTD today and no whine whatsoever. My wife Karen went with me and after about 3 miles into the test ride it hit me... no whine!!! I bought it on the spot. So now I'm online looking at chrome goodies for it, even though I've no money left.

eazyduzzit Posted September 14, 2008 Author #31 Posted September 14, 2008 Thanks Bobby! I've been riding it 3 days now and I'm loving it... It seems to ride better every time I get on it.
lockdoc Posted September 14, 2008 #32 Posted September 14, 2008 We're not talking big bucks here for a fix. I bought an "I" basket for $225 and paid my mechanic $100 for the install. Worth paying to stop.....me....whining! and a lot cheaper than talking yourself into looking at another bike.
wild hair 39 Posted September 14, 2008 #33 Posted September 14, 2008 you thank the ventures wine,you need to ride my voyager,good thing i'm deaf in one ear,and can't hear in :thumbdown:the other
eazyduzzit Posted September 14, 2008 Author #34 Posted September 14, 2008 I know they're not the only ones. I was fueling up beside a Gold Wing the other day, and he finished first and pulled out. I could hear his bike whine all the way up the interstate on ramp.
