Next storm up is Hana evidently she's coming to the east coast. She's gonna hit anywhere from FL to NC. Guess we'll wait and see where she goes, and how big she gets. Behind her comes Ike and Josephine. Getting busy for the next few weeks.

Don't ya just love hurricane season? :no-no-no: Nope me either.

Well Margaret, you can have her !!!! We don't want or need another storm for the rest of the year. One near miss is enough, thank you very much !!!!!!

Well if I have it in my power to keep them away from you folks I'd do it. Hana looks a bit weak at the moment. We could use the rain especially in the mountains of course not too much at once.

Hey Mini- after talking with Muffin on the phone last night, as I understand it from him, it's nothing different than sittin' on the bike goin' thru the carwash down at the corner! I actually think the guy LOVES riding through it!

Good luck with your encounters over the next couple weeks, send some of it up here (never thought I would say that after the spring we had!!)

Not sure Hana is gonna make it over to you. Looks like she'll head up the east coast states so far anyway. Never know with the other two that are out there. Yep he rode through one of the storms when he was down in Savannah to get home.

Hanna looks like she's changed direction and is being pushed back over Cuba into the Caribian and also out into the Atlantic. It's iffy which way she'll actually end up going, but my bet is she'll reform in the Caribian and pick up strengh before heading north on the same path that Gustov took due to the warmer water. Then again maybe she'll break up and disappear.....

We just had our scheduled rocket launch cancelled.

Cape Canaveral sent several technicians to Vandenburg, Calif., to help with this Thursdays scheduled rocket launch.

The cape called all of them and told them they had to return to the cape to help get things tied down before Hanna arrives..which cancelled our launch in Vandenburg....

A Mile Stone date missed........ouch.....$$$

This last fall Laura and I spent four days in Hilton Head, SC. While there, we toured some condo units. I asked about the problem with hurricanes and was told that due to the lay of the land that hurricanes do not cause a problem with Hilton Head. I said, "Do what?". Yep, I was told that they do not have hurricanes there. I don't wish anything bad on Hilton Head, but that is about the least bike friendly place I have ever been. Many of the areas you could not get into if you were on a motorcycle. Talk about a bunch of snotty people.

Anyway, the one I am waiting on is going to be called "Laura", which is on the list this year. That one is probably going to be a doozy.

Got it :Im not listening to

Scientists are developing techniques aimed at taming the power of the world's most devastating storms. The project, backed by funds from Nasa, would involve seeding clouds, coating seas with biodegradable 'slicks' and even beaming microwave radiation from orbiting power stations to slow or even halt hurricanes.

I Love history and science (past and future) as I find it quite interesting. Sadly, the future scares the bujeebas out of me and for my kids.

If we make it past doomsday (December 21st, 2012 (when the planets line up)) I shore hope NASA can keep that asteroid from hitting us in 2036. I am curious though if anything will change when that happens.

It is said that in the next 20 years, we should expect a lifetime of 150 years. And, they have already identified the part of DNA that can stop or slow the aging process.

Way too interesting but I'll stop here, I have hijacked the thread, sorry.
