2009 Models?

Sounds like a dealer that doesn't know his arss from a hole in the ground (or else he would be Venture certified) and is trying to blow smoke up your dress !!!!! Actually, if he's a legitimate YAMAHA dealer I would think he would HAVE to be certified on ALL their products, except for maybe boats/jet skis. JMHO !!!!

You may be right about this and there seems to be some dipute about what can and cannot be worked on. I emailed Yamaha Canada direct and got this response.

So lets hope the dealer is wrong about no 2009 model!

QUESTION:

Good day: I have a 2004 Venture that I have owned since new.I have a

waranty issue with an exhaust leak that Kahuna cycle is looking after for

me.They were refered to me from another dealer that said they were not

certified to work on the Venture?

The dealership I bought it from is out of business as well as other dealers

that have worked on the bike. My question to you is I go to Yamaha dealers

whom tell me that they are not authorised to work on a Venture for warranty

issues or other issues and refer me to other dealers that are suposedly

authorized. Is it true that there is a diference between Yamaha dealers

that are or are not Venture certified and can or cannot work on my bike? It

is getting harder to find a dealership willing to work on the bike as they

continue to close there doors for one reason or another.

Looking forward to your response in this matter and Thank you for your time

on this in advance.

John Downton

P.S. I am extremely happy with the bike but need to clarify if the dealers

are correct in telling me this. It just makes no sence to me.

Good afternoon,

We have different dealers dealing with different product groups, by that I

mean, some will deal with motorcycles, others with ATV's, others with

snowmobiles and so on, or some might run all product groups. As long as a

dealer is an authorised Yamaha dealer for motorcycles, he is allowed to

perform warranty repairs on a Yamaha motorcycle.

It is true we are seeing more and more dealers closing down, especially in

the GTA. This is unfortunately not a situation that's under our control,

these dealers are independently owned and operated and if for any reason

they can no longer run their business, there is sadly not much we can do.

As much as our consumers, we would like to see more dealers in operation.

We thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Regards,

Internal memo. Star Motors Design Division...

After careful consideration and with input from our field tester in Carson City, we have decided on the new 2009 design model for the Venture.

Due to the demand, we have realized that the original style Venture Royale is a far superior platform to compete in the touring market and with the new engine available, realized that we could also capture the sport touring market as well.

Please find below our completed test platform. Although we aren't too sure about the color, our tester assures us that yellow is a "cool" color. We were also advised to leave the motor "as is" from the vmax as he stated "Venture riders don't ride no wimpy detuned crap".

God have mercy on our souls.

Mine never does. But it gets looked at by a TON of hog riders.
I can say the same for my old RSV as well. I even had several HD riders admit it was one hell of a bike. Not that they'd make the switch, I mean, why would they want to save a ton of $$$ and get something with Yamaha reliability and more power? :rotf:

I have my 86 Venture and my 05 Wing. If the new Ventures come with the VMAX in 09 0r 10 I might be switching to a new Venture if the make they styling a little more modern. I don't care for the cd player option. They are a waste of money, mp3 player is the way to go.

But what will I do with all of my cassettes? This is a deal breaker!:stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:

Donate then to the Smithsonian, you might be able to receive a tax write off on them. When you figure that into the equation, well you just might have yourself a DEAL….:rotfl::rotf:

Yep, that would do it. I think the smithsonian like dusty things. If only I could remember where I put them??

They'll probably put in an I-pod dock. I don't have one of those but at least the dock doesn't take allot of space.

Call me crazy--I still like FM radio. I hear the local news and local commercials, mixed in with the music.
