Dusty Posted May 23, 2007 #1 Posted May 23, 2007 I purchased a Yamaha (J&M) headset recently. I installed the headset in my HJC AC2M..., well I tried. When I put the speakers which barely fit into the speaker pockets they are so thick they dig into my ears and drive me crazy (crazier). I think I need to go to a 3/4 helmet in order to accomodate the speakers, but I don't want to spend that kind of money unless I know the speakers and mike will fit properly. Any suggestions on which helmet will work?
Guest tazman547 Posted May 23, 2007 #2 Posted May 23, 2007 On my HJC, I used an old soldering iron and exact-o knife and carefully made a bit more room for my speakers. I am also using a chatter-box not the J&M.
KeithR Posted May 23, 2007 #3 Posted May 23, 2007 I just installed a set of J/M's in a HJC AC-3 Helmet with no problems...lots of room. Keith
Tartan Terror Posted May 23, 2007 #4 Posted May 23, 2007 I have the HJC AC3 helmet and the J&M headset in it. Best combo I have ever had.
Black Ice Posted May 23, 2007 #5 Posted May 23, 2007 Not familiar with the HJC AC2M helmet (is the AC2M full or half or?) but on my wife's HJC Flip front I had to cut the foam out of the helmet to insert the speakers and make them fit. Tried putting them in the little pocket space and she couldn't put the helmet on. All was fine then.

Dusty Posted May 23, 2007 Author #7 Posted May 23, 2007 AC-3 it is! I like the HJC helmets and as long as it works, that's the way I'll go. Thanks to all that responded.
Tartan Terror Posted May 23, 2007 #8 Posted May 23, 2007 Dusty you will like it. I used to only wear half helmets and just started wearing the 3/4 AC3. Its light and much cooler that you would think. I never wear my 1/2 anymore. Very comfortable after you break it in.
BigD Posted May 23, 2007 #9 Posted May 23, 2007 I have the HJC AC-3 helmet also. I don't even know the speaker is there until it goes off. Very comfortable helmet with good air flow, worth the money in my opinion.
Servicedog Posted May 23, 2007 #10 Posted May 23, 2007 I just got a Nolan N-42 (3/4 helmet with vision and sunvisor). It is "fitted" with a N-COM system that takes the J&M system. Haven't gotten the head set yet but the fit was really nice. XXL for me and finally one that fits good.
