Well here is the deal, bought 07 rsv midnight new from dealer with 1 mile on it, had a cb antenna fall off on way to st louis in June, had a different yamaha dealer replace and of course he turned it in for warranty work. Well yesterday he calls me and tells me yamaha denied the warranty work due to the fact that according to what yamaha told him i have only a mechanical/ powertrain only warranty an of couse he wants his 120.00. He stated that yamaha told him that they stated that the orginal dealer in northern ohio that i bought it from a got it in an auction or something to that extent thus causing yamaha to only have a limited powertrain only warranty. Well I called the salesman at Honda east and he had no idea what i was told and that he didn't know what the problem could be. He stated that he would have the person who enters warranty info to yamaha call me on Tuesday after she checks into this. Anyway I need anyone on here have any idea what this situation is and being i bought it in april and that don't give me the warranty that i paid for when purchasing the bike, can I use the lemon law to return it and force them to replace with one that has a the 5 year warranty and of next step also would be to seek legal assistance. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also the dealer i bought the bike from is four hours north of me so I went to yamaha dealer 45 min away to get antenna taken care of

I bought my 04 used from a dealer in Sept 07, w/16,000 miles on it. I've had three warranty repairs made on it with no problems whatsoever. I was told it has five years bumper to bumper (excluding expendable items and required servicing).

Don't know about where you are at, but there is no lemon law on motorcycles in the state of Georgia, just cars and trucks, BUMMER

5 year bumper to bumper. I even had the radio control head replaced due to cracking (after 2 1/2 years).

Call Yamaha HQ and talk to them about it. They should call this dealer and straighten it out.

They are probably not submitting it correctly to Yamaha.

In the US, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act guarantees that they cannot play those games with you. In addition, any manufacturer who attempts to deny a warranty claim improperly can be forced to pay all your legal fees to enforce the warranty. Do some research, and if you have to, get a lawyer, but do NOT let the manufacturer or the other shyster dealer steal from you. :080402gudl_prv:

If you bought it new with 1 mile on it, there's no way it was bought from an auction. I bought my '08 at Toledo east, it's a full warranty, I'm sure the dealer you took it to either did paperwork wrong or is trying to see if you'll cave. Their probably mad that you didn't buy it from them and are seeing if they can squeeze more money out of you. Give them 1 chance to make it right and apologize for what they are saying. If not then I would absolutely let them know that your contacting Yamaha and will be pursueing a formal complaint against them. And by all means DO THAT! dont let an unscroupulous dealer get away with anything.

Also, I have seen several New Yamaha's, for sale, on E-Bay, by dealers.

And its stated, that there is "NO Warrenty " ??? Just noticed this in the last couple of weeks.

I bought my 04 Midnight from the dealer with 4000 miles on it. It was a trade in and the bumper to bumper warranty transfered to me. I have had several items repaired under the warranty including the rear shock assembly.
