Took the 06 in and got the rear tire changed out after 6500 miles. What a quiet tire the Avon Venom is! 'Well, anyway, I thought that it was a given that the driveshaft splines would be dry as a bone? At least that's what so many of you have been saying. My driveshaft splines front and back had good grease; the hub had good grease. I am not complaining, only surprised. Greased her up with good moly anyway. Who has had dry? Who has had greasy? Jim:)

Both my '99's needed greasing but it's a crap shoot with who puts them together and if they know what they are doing :confused24:

PS Avons are great tires...you wont be disappointed :no-no-no:

I would hope...that the real reason your 2006 was properly greased at the factory was because Yamaha has listened to it's dealers point out to them the numerous times they have had to do what should have been done at the offset.

One can only hope...and dream that they are indeed listening.

Or perhaps the dealer checked, actually doing something to earn their "dealer prep" fee instead of just slapping on the handlebars.

Naww, what was I thinking :rotf:

Yeah, and the day I got my bike the bike was on the showroom floor and they scratched it and put some gas in it and that was all they did since they put it together from the crate. I had to stop and tighten the left mirror. Hard to find good dealers these days. Jim
