Leadwolf56 Posted September 2, 2008 Author #29 Posted September 2, 2008 (edited) Well, we had a great weekend. the weather was great, the friends were great and the roads were AWESOME! We left Elkhart at 8:00am saturday and picked up 93 Venture in Grovertown, rode backroads and 2 lanes all the way south, got into Corydon at 4:30 pm. We met up with Bummer at Emery's Ice Cream Parlor for dessert before dinner. 342 miles for us Saturday. Sunday we got up early and met Mariner Fan and Freezyrider and his group in Madison IN. Rode into Kentucky and onto some fantastic backroad riding, switchbacks down a gorge, realy cool. Got to Bardstown for lunch at the Old Talbott Tavern just after noon, then went to Heaven Hill distillery for a tour and tasting. We left Freezyrider and his group from there and headed west on some more great backroads to complete our loop back to Corydon. 230 miles for us almost all on backroads. Rode back home today on mostly backroads and 2 lanes, made 363 miles for a total of 935 miles this weekend. All I can say is that was a lot of hours on the bike and some great scenery. Just another great weekend for us with good friends. Edited September 2, 2008 by Leadwolf56
Dano Posted September 2, 2008 #30 Posted September 2, 2008 I'm envious!!!!!! I only did 600 this weekend over to NE Ohio (east of Mansfield), got a migraine late Saturday night, ruined my Sunday till about 6 PM, got in about an hour of great roads up there, till it got to where the deer were starting to move. I'm glad you guys had a great weekend!!!!! Guess I'll have to wait till Steve gets his ride together!!!! Dan
Leadwolf56 Posted September 2, 2008 Author #31 Posted September 2, 2008 It's nice down there Dan. I'd ride there anytime. We found some roads in Kentucky you wouldn't believe.
Dano Posted September 2, 2008 #32 Posted September 2, 2008 When we went down to Louisville with Bob (Mariner Fan), the son and I brought 421 back up from I-71. Great ride!! I'm STILL envious!!!
Magnum Posted September 2, 2008 #33 Posted September 2, 2008 Glad to hear you had a good ride. Something came up on Saturday and I was unable to contact you. Is there anyway you could post your route? I would be interested in seeing if it would be a route for a local club ride. Thanks.

Hey Doug, I know freezyrider had his route pretty much marked on a map. Maybe he still has it and could get you a copy. Mine was right off of the GPS going back, let me see if I can find it in there, if I can I'll send it to you.
FreezyRider Posted September 2, 2008 #36 Posted September 2, 2008 Hey Doug, I know freezyrider had his route pretty much marked on a map. Maybe he still has it and could get you a copy. Mine was right off of the GPS going back, let me see if I can find it in there, if I can I'll send it to you. Yep, I still have it on the map. I'll get it run through Google maps and then post a link so that everyone can see it. I'm at work now, so it'll have to wait until this evening. It was such a great weekend. Meeting up with Kevin & Sue, Darrin & Deb, and Bob was really a blast! It was great to ride, eat, laugh, and "sample" together! Even though one particular incident kind of "bugged" me, it was still an awesome time. I don't think I've ever seen 3 more glorious days for riding than Sat-Monday. Can't wait for the next one! Joe
Dano Posted September 2, 2008 #37 Posted September 2, 2008 Kevin, looks like Sue has found your replacement!!!!!! Better behave yourself!!

I ended up following a black Venture from Shelbyville to Anderson. The guy never looked back so I'm not sure if he saw me or not. Looks like you had a good time at the distillery.
