Condor Posted August 29, 2008 #26 Posted August 29, 2008 When switching to Avon Venoms should you run the bias tire front and rear?Or is there any benefit in running the radial on the rear? My riding style leans a little to the sportier side and I,m looking for traction and handling in the curves. It's my understanding you don't mix radials with bias plys...
Dieseldawg Posted August 29, 2008 #27 Posted August 29, 2008 A buddy of mine has a BMW lt1200 he said he mixed them.I heard that you shouldn't mix them either. Was just asking because I know wiser people then me would know.
KiteSquid Posted August 29, 2008 #28 Posted August 29, 2008 In my communicatins with Avon, they stated to use the bias ply tires only on the RSV. The have tire experts on staff.....

heatonmt Posted August 30, 2008 Author #33 Posted August 30, 2008 no but I did look at a new wing today. Going to start calling around today. If the 09 ventures don't get some charges I am thinking of going HD our Wing.
MAINEAC Posted August 30, 2008 #34 Posted August 30, 2008 I'm running a Car Tire radial in the rear and when my front Avon wears out I'm going to a radial front... The Vulcan 2000 runs the same size front tire as the RSV but it has Radials.. I'm considering a Bridgestone Radial... The Gold Wingers love the Bridgestone Radials... I guess they're better than their Bias Ply.

heatonmt Posted August 31, 2008 Author #36 Posted August 31, 2008 Well went on a ride with the tires yesterday. I really like that narrower tire in town but don't much care for it on the interstate. it makes the front end fill to lite for me. I am going to call on Tuesday to see if I can get a stock size Avon shipped in and mounted before eureka springs. I know alot of people like the smaller tire and it does fill good at slower speeds but I like the highway riding and not a lot of in town well it was worth a try. Ride safe.
