Ok all you wiz's out there.

 

What is the factory torque for the rear axle castle nut on a 1986 Suzuki 1400?

 

The only tech info I can find tells me it is 40-63 fp. That sure seems low to me.

That sounds about right to me Russell I cant say for sure cause I dont have a book.

Sounds about right if it's a castle nut and has a cotter pin to go through as well.

86 suzuki 1400?? Is that a calvalcade you are working on? I have an 85 1200 Madura, I mite be able to get a service manual for that bike if you need one?? Craig

Thought you said you never torque any bolts ?

russel, since it's a shaft drive the axle can't move so i would say those figures are right on. i had a 1400 but can't find my shop manual. must have let it go with the bike. bill
