and other moving violations.

i have been told, that if you get a ticket, for lets say $115.00.

i'm told you can send in a check, for $118.00 or $120.00, to cover the ticket.

the clerk then sends you a check for the amount that was "over the fine".

NOW i'm told that as long as you don't cash that refund check, the case remains open, and never goes against your record. case can't be closed until the "books balance". anyone ever heard of this?

I have heard this too. I have no idea if it is valid but I asked a CHP friend and got the "no comment" answer. Rod

I am living proof that this will not work in KY :whistling:. They will not take a check for the ticket. Only cash or a money order for the exact amount. :bang head: :bang head: :bang head: :crying:

My wife works for the local County Circuit Clerks office and she said they don't care if you ever cash the check. I didn't ask her but like most government checks it probably expires in 90 days or so anyway.

The government is pretty stupid at times but the one thing they do well is collect money.
