1 - UP Posted August 22, 2008 #27 Posted August 22, 2008 been on the eye wall since 8 pm last nite and it sucks !!! lost my attn. and sat dish last nite , wind is gusting to 55 mph so far i have got 16 in. of rain , but the rain gage took a walk sometime last nite . looking out the window a few small trees are down . i hope Fay will move soon !! i have never seen a storm sit in 1 place this long , it has over stayed it welcome ! Thom Thom, You can expect another 2-3 days of what you had. Just been through 4 days of it. Thought it would never go away. Cocoa Beach got 25+ inches. I know I got over 15 inches and quit counting. I'm lucky, I have no damage. The water was half way up my driveway. The middle of the block was flooded on my street. The same was going south from my house. Lost power for a while. Just to let everybody know - If you have a battery powered small TV, it will no longer work after Feb 09. You'll have to get another one. I got one, and it will be in the trash come the first of the year. They come in handy during times like this if you don't have a gen. I hope you come out from this thing, like it has been said, I have never seen a storm like this before. But then I have only been here 18 years. Ken:thumbsup2:
Thom Posted August 22, 2008 #29 Posted August 22, 2008 Ken , i hear you guys got up to 26 in. of rain in the last 2 days ! we will go over the 20 in. mark to day , looks like you mite see the sun today , lucky you , only had the power go out for short periods here but it helps being the only generator repair man in the area , i got a 10 k in the driveway and a 5k out back . i do not use a battery powered tv i use a d.c. boat battery and a small inverter and a battery charger , i can use my reg. tv up to 10 hrs. on one charge plus charge my laptop . i bet you are so glade you came back to FLA. to enjoy this with the trike !! lol lets take a vote and let Mini have the next one , OK ? witch maybe the end of next week . Thom

venturejockey Posted August 22, 2008 #31 Posted August 22, 2008 Giving up on the vacation to Alabama. Plan on trying again in October. That is if the gulf beaches don't get washed away.
mini-muffin Posted August 22, 2008 #32 Posted August 22, 2008 Well thanks Thom we could use the rain up this way. The mountains are in desperate need for some rain. Remember them rivers that looked like streams and the water right there in the campground. That's part of the Swananoa river. Hope you guys can still get around when this is over. You all have boats right? I mean it is Florida. Margaret
