Andrew Posted August 19, 2008 #1 Posted August 19, 2008 I have a short in the plug for my driver’s head set cable harness. It is the 5-pin connector and if memory serves correctly (only have one brain cell left!) there are two connectors on the "bike" side. Does anyone have a source for replacement cables?
Freebird Posted August 19, 2008 #2 Posted August 19, 2008 I'm not sure but you might check with: http://www.sierra-mc.com
Andrew Posted August 19, 2008 Author #3 Posted August 19, 2008 Thanks, I'll start there A local dealer said they are out of production (what a suprise!)
GigaWhiskey Posted August 20, 2008 #4 Posted August 20, 2008 They still have them. Replaced mine recently. Note that the things where the five pin connection slides into, the ones from them do not stick well at all. Keep using at least the one on your faux tank cover if it is still there. Also, when you plug them into the tuner, both of them need to be in for them to be snug. They do not plug is the same as the originals. You will see when you get in there. They will do the job you are asking them to do.
Rocket Posted August 20, 2008 #5 Posted August 20, 2008 I'm not sure but you might check with: http://www.sierra-mc.com Yup, Still listed at Sierra MC http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=JM%2DYV%2D41
Andrew Posted August 20, 2008 Author #6 Posted August 20, 2008 Thanks for all of the input! This is a great place for information. I have ordered a set if cables from Sierra MC along with a second helmetless headset. I hope that It is delivered by Friday, we have our annual Patriot Guard rally this weekend.
MiCarl Posted August 23, 2008 #7 Posted August 23, 2008 I got a set too. If' I'd realized they're 2 identical cables I'd have shared an order with Andrew. The replacement cable from JM does not have the connector to tie into the attenuator on the driver remote. Not an issue for me, but anyone doing this should know they will lose that functionality.
