Awesome, thanks, I knew I'd find help here!

It's definitely not caput. It is just crooked in a way that I can't seem to get it back to factory. I have bent it back in place but the cowling still seems asymmetrical with the opposite side.

I should post a couple of pics...

The bar looks good in place but the cowling seems higher than the left side and slightly further forward. It's really not a big deal but annoying...

I don't want to spend $260 for the Yamaha part!

Is your "bent" one totally done, caput, finished? If not then you can put the recommended mod on it to make it more solid.

See this link in the tech section.

Oh...I've not heard anything bad about Pinwall...so I cant offer any more than that.

I gotcha...if you do decide on new dont buy it in Canada! 188 bucks at Yamahasportscenter Texas or the yamahasport center in seattle. Watch shipping though...you dont want anything shipped fedex or UPS as you will pay huge brokerage fees. USPS is the best.

That thing is flimsy at best the way it sits and you may be able to bend it (gently) with your foot, but be careful not to crack the cowling. Once done put the brace on and be done with it.

I think :think:the one Pinwall is selling is the one that goes in front of the rear saddle bag.

I've bought a few things from them and I'd recommend them and I live in the UK, I did have a problem where they sent me the wrong cables but they sorted it very quickly.

I think it's too late because you changed your mind - wasn't what you needed but for future reference and if someone searches for them and finds this thread - I ordered a replacement chrome tip for the rear of my front fender. They did me right. No problems.

I have had several dealings with them. They are located in Ohio and I have stopped by their place to see it and meet them in person. Very nice people and ALL their parts are stored indoors out of the weather. I always recommend them. There is actually a link to their Ebay page on our home page here. I don't place those links to anybody that I don't support.

good idea - I will call them tomorrow. You would think they might have one if they have a Venture they are stripping. Thanks everybody - especially for catching my mistake!! lol, that would have been funny if I had ordered it...

Sorry, probably not the right folder but....

Has anyone dealt with this eBay seller? Pinwall Cycleparts

They list a crash bar that would replace my, ahem, "bent" one... It's a bit hard to tell from the pics how bad the "road rash" is but it looks straight - can you see any thing wrong with it?

It may not be worthwhile after paying UPS cross border fees

"Most packages shipped UPS at the discretion of Pinwall, certain/very few items ship via USPS."

Previously I had placed an order with them, of a few buy it now items. The items pages had stated USPS shipping, they shipped UPS & I refused delivery of the order, as they broke their own terms & condition of sale.

In the long run, the order was destroyed & I'm out the purchase price (paypal dispute has improved since then). So as a result, for out of USA buyers, I recommend against buying from them.

This Ebay dealer, I have excellent dealings with & will ship USPS (combined shipping too).

I highly recommend him, I have placed about 10 orders with him.
