Long Tall Posted August 19, 2008 #1 Posted August 19, 2008 Just got back from the Mid-Atlantic StarBQue in Cornelius, NC....Yamaha had their truck there for demo rides... They also had the new V-Max...one of only two in the US...pic if anyone is interested... Squeeze Posted August 19, 2008 #4 Posted August 19, 2008 What, no test rides?????????? No Test Rides all over the World, yet. For what i've heard, there are four of those in US, but only two of them even have Oil in the Motor. But someone even mangaged to drop the Demo Bike and ruined one of the Scoops.
royalstarjac Posted August 19, 2008 #5 Posted August 19, 2008 I was also at the StarBQ. My understanding is that the VMax we saw there was a "non-running model"-Jack:confused24:
sarges46 Posted August 19, 2008 #6 Posted August 19, 2008 God....thats an awesome power-plant! Squeeze...could you start figuring out how to put that motor in the current model RSV's...please..... once that thing hits the road, unfortunately it wont take long for salvage motors to come on line!
Squeeze Posted August 19, 2008 #7 Posted August 19, 2008 I think the bare Engine would fit into a Venture. It's not larger than the old Motor. Not sure about the U-Joint Connection though. But i seriously doubt that the Throttle Bodies and the Airbox would find it's Place. Next, there are 4 Computers on the Bike, 3 of them should go into the the Bike. Where should they go, when you want to keep the Trunk and Saddlebags Space available ?
Snarley Bill Posted August 19, 2008 #8 Posted August 19, 2008 my dealer wanted to put my name on his. all it would take was a $1000.00 non refundable deposit. i told him the zx 14 he sold me last year would dust it good, so i figure i'll just keep my kaw. over 200 hp and less than 600 lbs. now. :cool10:
KiteSquid Posted August 19, 2008 #9 Posted August 19, 2008 Also, doesent the new V-Max use the engine as a frame componet? If so, you could get rid of part of your frame..... It might be easyer just to wait for the 2010 RSV.
sarges46 Posted August 19, 2008 #10 Posted August 19, 2008 Ya, I figured that. Never easy is it. Guess I am going to have to wait....lets see...about 10 years before I get a new bike...by then I will be too wobbly to hold up these things and be riding a vstar or triking.
Tour Deluxe Posted August 20, 2008 #11 Posted August 20, 2008 Yeh, I was also at the Star B-Q. I saw the V-Max and thought it was awsome. Told the Star guy there I will wait for the motor to be in the new Venture. He hinted something is in the works but would not elaborate. I was the guy who won the Road Kill game. See you in Winchester, Va next year. Will (Star Chapter 165, Delaware)
