Been looking at Medical ID's thinking about buying one for myself (hypothyroidism). Also thinking about purchasing one for my Mother who is diabete, taking Coumadin and other meds. After doing some looking found temporary tattoos That are said to last around 3 days. http://www.medawareid.com/. Plus now have the idea of just getting a real tattoo with the medical symbol. Instead of having to remember to put it on. But where to place it. Is there a special place that emt and doctors look? just a idea.

Mama, I'm thinking wrist. Like a medical bracelet but smaller. First place an EMT would look especially when taking vital signs. IMHO:confused24:

I have a good friend and riding partner that is diabetic. He got a tattoo on the inside of his left forearm. The medical symbol with diabetic under it. It looks good and is clear to any one checking the pulse. Rod

I entered "dog tags" on google and found many places that will inscribe dog tags with any thing you want, for little or nothing. I ordered 2 red tags and had ond inscribed with my medical problems and the other with my name address and phone number, in case I am unconsious. They hang around my neck at all times when I am out of the house. The cost for them was around 10 dollars a pair. At the same time I ordered regular dog tags for my dogs with their name and my address and phone number, for the same cost. It was used once as my fence was left open and my dogs were stopped walkiing in the middle of a busy road. When I was called I was real suprised as I did not know the gate was open.

Also as you change and age your problems may change as well and you can replace the originals for updated tags at a cheaper rate. good luck. Lyle

My son has a severe Heart problem (1/2 Heart), Hpyoplastic Left Heart Syndrom. He is 11 and wore a sport bracelet till just recently. He sometimes worke it on his ankle or wrist. The bracelet also has a # that Dr. can call where they can obtain his full Medical histroy that we have entered on line. We also carry a Flash Drive with everthing on it as well. Just this year he decided to go to the Dog Tag. We got ours from MedicAlert.Org
