Seaking Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Does anyone already run with Harley Davidson Take Off Mufflers, "Slash Cuts"? Are these obnoxiously loud or just a good deep throaty rumbler sound like a decent set of pipes should be, without getting you in trouble with the coppers and their db Sensors? I love the Venture but the girlie sound is too akin to a Geezer-Glide and I'd like to man it up some.. (Ok, too much coffee first thing this morning..) I've seen it advertised on eBay and the utoob clips sound OK but how can ya tell without being there eh? But the price is right.. Thanks in advance..

I drilled out center and they are just right, still not too loud I love the Venture but the girlie sound is too akin to a Geezer-Glide and I'd like to man it up some.. venture101 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I just installed the Road Glide slash cuts on mine a couple weeks ago. Love em!! I just went on a 1000 mile ride last weekend to Crater Lake, Or. and liked the sound. When I installed them, I like the deeper tone but wanted a little more when I opened the throttle. A 1 1/8 " hole saw took care of the problem, just drilled out the rear baffle. If more sound is wanted, you can drill out the front baffle.

I think it's more about the rumble and tone than volume right now.. But I'll keep that in mind if they turn out to be a wee tad too quiet.. Cheers
Squidley Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I have had them on my last 2 RSV's and just bought a set off bay and will be putting them on my '08. Wait to drill them until you have them on and have listened 1st. want louder drill the rear baffle plates, still louder then the front baffle plates. Even with both the baffle plates out it is not obnoxious, I have the mounting brackets on sale right now if you decide to go that route.
